Avs fan here. I'll give my series opinion on hellebuyck.
Game 1: maybe he could've stopped goal 1, should've had goal 3
Game 2: goal 1 shouldnt happen, obviously goal 3 was on him
Game 3: maybe goal 1 (poor rebound control)
im not sure why he's on the ice for goal 3 but i don't know if it makes a difference
Game 4: i think goal 3 is a save he should make (similar to game 1 goal 1)
Game 5: goal 2 maybe a poke check to put the puck in the corner but i think thats hindsight
Overall i think he cost them game 2 but i don't think the series was on him
We say it every year. Playoff hockey is different. Regular season doesnt mean jack for these match-ups. If anything, Bednar was sandbagging for them.
Best offense vs best defense? Looks like the unstoppable force beats the immovable object.
So glad to be done with the Jets, some of the worst fans in the league. Hope they never win again
Avs waves and waves…too much to handle… feel bad for Jets fans.
The only reason the Jets didn't get swept was because Georgiev had such a horrendous game 1. Remember, the AVS scored 6 in that first game.
I think the "VeziNOT" sentiment is more frustration with the whole team consistently taking it down a notch in the post season while most other teams are taking it up a notch.
The Jets never found their game, especially their structured defense that earned them the Jennings trophy.
While it was certainly not all Hellebuyck's fault; you'd expect a few highlight reel saves from a Vezina level goalie rather than letting in 5+ goals every game.
The difference in this series. The Jets defense let Hellebuyck down and after the first game the Avs defense built a wall around Georgiev. It's not all on Hellebuyck. Give the Avs offense some credit. Twenty-Eight goals in five games. For the playoffs, that's pretty amazing.
Rick Bowness as your coach moment. There’s a reason Dallas fans booed him (me included, yes we made the finals with him but not really his team when we did)
This Avalanche team still has the experience on the roster from 2022 to know how it takes to get to the Stanley cup. Here's hoping for another great postseason!
You’re right they could have called interference on the hit on Makar, but in reality they could have called about 10 other penalities that they didn’t as well during the game. I think the 28-32 Ref You Suck chants prove my point. They chanted Ref you Suck triple the amount of times they chanted “Let’s Go Jets”
Truthfully, as a Jets fan, I'm much more frustrated with Scheifele's casualness on the ice rather than Hellebuyck's struggles between the pipes.
The jets let makar and mackinnon do what ever they wanted on the ice, helleybuck holding it to 5 goals a game was better than nothing
What annoys me as a Leafs fan is that Toews isn’t even the best defenceman for the AVs

The Avs are more fortunate than the Jets and the fact that they were able to get superstars like Makar and McKinnon and players like Rattenen and Nichushkin, the Jets have good players, but they never drafted high enough other than Laine, which didn’t turn out well, despite the Jets good drafting they never really have addressed their defence since 2018, which is why despite having a great season they failed in the playoffs and made helle not look like a great goalie

Yes defenceman was bad BUT HELLEBUYCK WAS REALLY F*CKING BAD! Come on Shannon I understand not blaming the goalie on every goal BUT as a former defenceman YOU CAN'T BLAME DEFENCE ON EVERY GOAL EITHER! Both defenceman & ESPECIALLY Goaltending were all AWFUL!

Good call on that Makar hit. It's just a collision, in my opinion. As an avs fan it made me.sad to see the Jets fans all leaving before the end of the game, hand shake line and chearing on your team and salute from the players. To spend that much money and leave early blows my mind.
Really disappointing performance by Jets. Credit where it's due though, Colorado looked amazing. Most ferocious counter attack and lethal power play out there. I underestimated them, definitely can win The Cup.
Side note, crazy how triggered Avs fans were by "pull your goalie" lol
I blame Hallebuck for the 6th goal. I mean he wasn’t even in position…
Kenny Omega is busy burying AEW on Twitch. I would say get Brock Lesner but I don't think now is the right time for that and he can't be bothered anyway.
Really gotta feel bad for helle. I can't really think of more than two or three goals he really should of had this series. Facing 40+ shots a game with no defensive help at all. But avs shutting down the jets D! Bend but not break, letting them have zone time but keeping them to bad shots from the outside and no dangerous chances! Great strength by the boys to close this out!
Why jets fans so salty
the one key thing I will remember from this series is when Namestnikov went down, Ball Arena went silent. Cheered when he got back up under his own power. Then when Parise went down at the Jets arena, the crowd cheered.

Avs coach doesn't get enough credit. Everyone wants to credit the players but if you actually pay attention, Bedsy is driving this team by excellent strategy, coaching, and motivation. Bedsys calm yet confident demeanor really makes a huge difference for the team
Shannon, did you give Yvonne some hugs? Always tough when your playoff team gets eliminated in the 1st round. Rick Bowness is a good coach but seemed like the team didn’t respond well to his system at times during the season. Jets will have to add more offense to compete better against the Stars/Avs.
