  1. I would give Kane a 3yr deal with incentives. We have some contracts coming off the books next year. Hes worth the risk.

  2. I'm thinking 2-3 years with a signing bonus or something. We have several other contracts expiring and I can see several of them not coming back. We have the space in terms of cap.

  3. I would also re-sign him for a 3 year contract with incentives asap. He transformed the Wings offense upon arrival onward. Trade Copp and Fabs and give the money to Berg and Kane 🎉

  4. I know conditional contracts aren’t a thing, but if it is, I would give him a 2 years guarantee $10M AAV, 2 years extended on condition of his performance, $10M AAV if he is still point per game or $6-8M AAV depending on how well he played

  5. Kane seemed happy with being able to have his family and parents from Buffalo at games. The proverbial career/life balance is important to someone at his stage. He’s also pretty cerebral, and being able to learn from the likes of Yzerman prepares him for eventual mgmt. roles if that’s what he seeks.

  6. It's unconventional, but possibly a 2 year deal with a player option of a third as long as he's above .75 points per game. If he dips below that detroit has the option to say no, bit that allows Kane the stability as long as he keeps producing.

  7. Kane used an awful lot of past tense language about his experience in his exit interview for someone who might be considering coming back. That's all I'm gonna say.
