knights, dallas seems like much better team than vegas imo

  2. CryptographerTop6473

It’s not going to matter. They are Stanley cup contenders. Dallas might look better but Vegas have that championship mentality. It’s gonna be war and Georgie and the D are going to be elite.. game1 and game5 against the Jets would be blowouts against these two.

  3. RobosaurusRex2000

I like our odds against either. Dallas is a better team but we’ve had their number 6/8 games over the last 2 years. Vegas is weaker but once they start losing they’ll start playing the goon game and try to injure players (especially Petrangelo) so I’d kind of prefer the Stars. Win or lose based off our merits, not which players Vegas gives a dirty concussion to

  4. DangleSnipeCely

I like home ice advantage so I’ll take Vegas as our next victim

  5. Electronic-Ruin-2137

Not a matchup thing but bring on Vegas because

    1) Home ice
    2) Not having to hear that god awful Stars goal ‘song’
    3) Benn is dirty AF

As a knights fan youd have a better chance to beat us, (i live in colorado dont hate me please). But if the knights can get to the next round the Avs have a very good chance at beating us. Its a longshot right now for the VGK to even get there with how theyve been playing. As the Avs being my second favorite team, i honestly think they can handle the stars and pull out with a series win.

  7. Parmesanchzgorl

I would rather Dallas. I feel like Vegas is shady.

  8. porkchopespresso

I don’t get how people don’t pick home ice for this (frequent) question

  9. SemperFi1025

Dallas, especially if it goes to game 7, Vegas has been laying them out pretty consistently.

  10. elonspaceguy

“To be the Champs, you gotta beat the Champs.” The motto from the cup run when we got matched up against Tampa. I’m hoping for the knights!!

  11. COphotoCo

I just want them finish that series sooner than later so our guys don’t lose rhythm

  12. I like Vegas, they’re a big body team that plays defensively, but we have the tools and the legs to outscore their defensive play. Plus, I think Dallas will put it to game 7 so they’re going to be tired.

    Plus home ice. Duh.

  13. ___whatis___

I don’t care. The AVS will play who they play. End of story. Both matchups are going to be 10x harder than Winnipeg. Hoping for an opponent is idiotic as it’s playoffs and nothing is easy. The second you think it’s easy. Is the same second you start planning golf trips while watching other teams compete for a cup.

  14. We match up so much better against Vegas. Dallas is one of the few teams that knows how to beat us in the neutral zone. They defend the blue line so so well. Stymie the zone entries and it throws the Avs off their game. Neither series will be easy but the Stars are way scarier.

  15. KlutchFord

Stars have a better goalie, Vegas has a better defense. I’ll take Vegas because our players can out skate defensemen. A tough goalie would be worse imo, but even then, look at what they did to Hellebuyck. But home ice and Vegas, for sure

  16. Colorado matches up well with every team. Honestly Colorado is so damn good this season. They just have to stay focused and healthy. Keep getting good goaltending and defense and keep that amazing offensive pressure going. I think this team looks better than 2022

  17. Fabulous-Search-4165

We can take both down handily but i prefer the knights for revenge

  18. SpiralSuitcase

Honestly I just hope for 7 games, and multiple overtimes. I’ll take either of them bloody and bruised.

  19. moose4030

Doesn’t really matter. 12 wins left either way, let’s go Avs!

  20. Massive_Contract_908

Stars, don’t want battle of attrition with vegas. Dallas is already feeling it some like us.

  21. WishSuperb1427

I keep reading posts like this and honestly I go back and forth. I hate Dallas, and I hate Vegas, so at least I will be very fired up… but I am just some guy in the stands and watching on TV.

Pros about Vegass…. Home Ice, try to gain advantage early.

Cons about Vegass… they know how to cheat the system well and are defending SC champs

Pros about Dalass… we beat them 3 out 4 times we played them in regular season hockey this year (note: regular season hockey is a different sport than playoffs), They have no huge recent huge playoff success.

Cons about Dalass…. We are the road team, They are really annoying, including the fans and other things mentioned above.

Both teams and their fans are easy to hate honestly.

Either one will be a satisfying and justified good kill.

  22. lostincoloradospace

    Knights

    Bring on the defending champs

    We will crush their souls

  23. mastergriggy

I’m going with Stars as we only have to beat the team instead of the team and the refs.

  24. DrConnors71

I want vengeance on both. Hell, I still want playoff payback for losing in the WCF in 1999 and 2000 to the stars. How dare they delay Bourque getting his cup!

  25. sk8tergater

Honestly to me it doesn’t much matter. The stars and the knights have seemed quite even their whole series, they feel very similar. Knights give the avs home ice though

  26. darelectro

Vegas is a dirtier team and they are a bunch of cheaters so I think they should be bounced first round out of principle.

  27. speaker4the-dead

Dallas, simply for the Matt duchane tears after we win

  28. I hate both these teams, but I think I hate Vegas (in the postseason) a little more, 2020 notwithstanding. There’s just something about the GK that makes me want to scream slightly louder and more shrilly than Dallas when May rolls around.

  29. Typical_Anybody

Both are real good teams with a lot of depth and great goaltending. I’d say Dallas is slightly more scary though. Both teams are struggling at home right now so I’m not as concerned about home ice advantage.

That said, I would like to see us take down Dallas. I still have a bad taste from the bubble series and this could help wash it out.

  30. EhhhhhBud97

I personally want Dallas only because I’d love to see Vegas ousted R1 after their cap shenanigans.

  31. Ca1fSlicer

Both are very very good complete hockey teams, but I think Dallas is a little bit better. Both have a few goonish players. I’d say it’s a coin flip, but we probably match up better with Vegas

  32. I appreciate all the comments, I was really hoping for some insight on how we match up in regards to strengths/weaknesses/styles of play because I don’t have a ton of technical hockey knowledge

  33. archertom89

For selfish reasons, I want Dallas. They are central time zone, so hopefully better start times. If avs start on home again Vegas, there is a good chance I wont be able to attend any games based on what I think the schedule might be like. I couldn’t go to any games last series cause I worked an evening shift during games 3 and 4 so i got game 6 tickets and well you know how that went.

And if the avs are going to win the cup, they should beat anybody at home or on the road.

  34. theblasky

Only 1 home ice win between the two of them so far in the playoffs. Doesn’t matter who it is. Can’t beat the Avs if u can’t win at home.

  35. seantinstrumentals

Doesn’t matter, hope they play 7 games

  36. ThanatosRune7

my heart says dallas so i can go watch a game(since i live in dfw) but everything else says vgk

  37. Lark_Bunting_33

Dallas having the best road record in the NHL + having home ice is why you want Vegas.
