Petry was not passing at the start of the year, then he pouted… after his wife had trouble at the Costco with a manager speaking French. I call BS on that.
Matheson is younger, will replace for 3 years and can grow a little more…and is a local boy.

No to signing UFA’s or trades , the system has enough players chopping at the bit.

The two P’s trade is good. For both teams. Everyone is happy
I don't mind it. I think it's a smart trade actually, because Matheson is 6 years younger, close to 1.5M AAV cheaper, and was more productive than Petry last season. This is also a boost for leadership. Do I think hughes could've gotten more in return? Sure. The 4th round pick is a little bit lower than I expected, but it's still an understandable trade. Your average habs fan blames their marriage issues on the Canadiens, they are always mad, it's a great trade, Matheson's a Pointe Claire boy who wants to be here and really likes our GM.

Petry deserved the trade… he's been great for the habs… he signed with us back then when he could have got away… so if he wants out for his family no problem with that… the habs needed a D to actually play cuz it's getting thin there… a D at 4m not a big issue so ok return in this market… gets us closer to bedard so I'm fine with it

Great trade for both teams IMO. We unloaded some cap space and got Rem Pitlick back in the lineup.

People are so quick to forget that Kent Hughes can fleece half the GM’s in the league with a 4th round pick.
Bergevin ran the team like a quebecois family…. a bordelo… Kent is a lawyer and Horton has a masters in sports management…
I wasn’t too crazy about this trade when it first came out but we didn’t retain anything and we didn’t have to give up any major picks. We also traded someone who doesn’t want to be here in any capacity and gained someone who was excited the second the trade was announced to come to Montreal
I think the trade works great for both teams, im just glad we didnt have to retain salary. Thanks for the video bro.
