What kind of blind idiot thinks McDavid isn't good in the playoffs? That's just mental.
Big Vinny D 100%. His playoff performance is a night and day difference compared to last year's.
It's going to be a tough road ahead, but this year's team is much more improved over last year's.
Who (besides the ambient thrum of lunatics that comes with the internet) on god's green earth is trying to say McDavid isn't good in the playoffs
No i don`t feel more confident.
Their depth isn`t there so much, McDrai carried them. McLeod, Holloway added a bit, but Foegele didn`t get anything going and also Perry wasn`t on the scoresheet a lot. Kane alone won`t be enough.
If i look at the Avs, who did eat a pretty strong Jets team alive, or Dallas vs. Vegas series, i have them over the Oilers.
Even the Nucks, they did dominate the Oilers in the regular season.
In the West, FLA, NYR, Canes imo look more like cup champs than the Oilers do.
The Oilers might go another round, but i say they meet their end latest in the conference finals. Whoever wins Avs vs Dallas / VGK will move to the finals, and likely meet FLA.
Oilers special teams was huge. The PP was operating over 50% efficiency (took a dip after their series winning game). But the PK was perfect going 12 for 12.
The Oilers are the Canadian version of the Colorado Avalanche. Let's be real.
We can beat Nashville but I’d love to see a Vancouver series.
Oilers can beat anyone if they get out of their own way.
A strong sign your team is going deep is when they win elimination games at the first opportunity
The Oilers kryptonite is the refs putting away their whistles. They live and die by the PP. LA Kings are terrible. Oilers will get destroyed by the AVS, Stars or Golden Knights. They have ZERO chance of coming out of the West. Take that to the bank.
12 points in 5 games… nice McJesus
Desharnais looks so much better if I am to pick just one guy for a comment. The whole team seems to have improved defensively which is nice to say now after some time of not being able to really say this. One game at a time boys! Lets go!
Paul Coffey has revolutionized Oilers D – nurse and Vinny D are far more reliable than ever and it's so great to watch them work as real defencemen while having vicious shots. masterpiece defence coach change for the Oilers
to me an assist is a GOAL cuz thats how a GOAL was obtained. So if McJESUS got 11 assists, means he got 11 goals
I am not an Oilers fan (Blackhawks), but I am cheering for them hard in these playoffs. Its just… time.
Also, there seem to be a LOT of
peoplemorons out there who think that the Oilers are the Maple Leafs, and that it is just a matter of time before they blow it.Well, I just have one point…
Why is it so difficult to believe that a team with this much talent has finally put it all together and truly learned how to win in the Playoffs.
And if you say "History", well…
2010 Blackhawks. The franchise hadn't won since black and white tv, and then…
BOOM! Stanley Cup Champs.
The Oilers have as good a shot as anyone this year.
They are playing well together, aren't showing any major flaws, and most importantly, they have not allowed any adversity to slow them down. They just keep putting on the pressure!
Teams are not going to be able to shut this team down. Too much talent, too many goal scorers.
I am pulling for you, Edmonton!
I really would love to see an all Canada final.
I really believe in this team!
Good luck the rest of the way!!
Kings out hit the Oilers and that is why the penalties added up at the end of the game.
This fame could have been another shutout if Kings didnt get a lucky goal. Game One would have been 7-2 as well.
Kings fan here, honestly the overall team strategy is the most impressive difference between the oilers of 22, 23, 24, before there wouldn't be a style change regardless of if they were up or not. But now, you let the oilers get a 1 goal lead in the third or a 2 goal lead in the second, and they switch their style to shut down defense, the oilers look poised for a stanley cup run
I think Bouchard has been unreal. His plus minus is doing well, not just because of the PP, but his defensive game has been on point.
The Kings are pretty bad who didn’t see this coming ??
Lmfao no they’re not.
LA fumbled because they’re soft.
Whack
Most impressive thing about the postseason Oilers is, that if they're going to play a powerplay, opposite tam has almost no chance.
LA sucks not even close match
Who says Mcdavid isn't a playoff performer? lol leafs fans probably dude is only behind The great one and super mario in ppg in the playoffs lol
0:59 The only people that claim McDavid doesn't perform in the playoffs, are people who are jealous he's not on their team. Full stop.
He and Draisaitl got what…. 33 pts in 16 games in 2022? Whoever claims neither of those two show up in the playoffs? Just disconnect and ignore anything they have to say, because they're simply going to say whatever they can, to try and get a rise out of people. Waste of oxygen.
Oilers got out hit because they had the puck a lot more. You don’t hit when you have the puck plain and simple
From losing 386 games in a row this season to taking out the Kings in 5…
They just like to make it exciting in Edmonton apparently 🤨
Edmonton is just firing.
Everyone saying that Edmonton's 5v5 wasn't 100%- remember how LA plays. #3 in the league defence 5v5.
If Edmonton can handle LA in a game 4 style going forward they are capable of taking any series.
I'd say I was most impressed by Leon Draisaitl so far. Of course he was going to get points and be productive, but I wasn't expecting him to be skating so hard in the neutral zone (both offensively and defensively) due to how often he'd coast in the regular season 👍
I feel a million times more confident in the team this year compared to the last 2. Skinner has been very solid and has proven he can steal them games (only goalie in the playoffs so far to have a shutout) and be reliable in tough situations. The oilers haven’t given up a single power play goal, which also has to with the Kings just simply not having a good pp to begin with, but they really shut it down. Two players that r have really impressed me are Dylan Holloway and Vinny Desharnais. Holloway was called up near the end of the season, and the fact that he was bouncing between the nhl and ahl all season, it’s incredible to see him make an impact in the playoffs. Vinny has improved significantly, he went from being a 7th D that always made mistakes and was behind everyone else, to a very reliable guy that they can trust to defend crucial moments in the game
Kane impressed
This is an awful take. Kings have serious issues. Went from top 2 team in the division to squeaking into the playoffs and nearly being a wildcard. Traded the barn for a player who is known to do nothing in dubios and their 2 best players are 35 +. And i wont even bother with the McD comment. Everyone in the league knows where him and drai stand in the playoffs.
Lol, easy to win games when officiating always favors you, and your opponent is often short-handed🤣🤣
Stop the talk about what?? Lmao McDavid has the 3rd highest points per game in NHL HISTORY. There was no talk, wtf were you even talking about? 😂
Evan Bouchard is by far the most impressive player aside from McDavid.
Oilers will be known for killing the 1 3 1. No way LA goes back to it.
Edmonton put on a defensive clinic in the 3rd. Limited the Kings to 3 shots (until the kings made it 4-3) and gave the Kings NOTHING up to that point. In fact, Edmontons team defence was so good, LA Kings players were blocking their own team’s shots.
They are good but there is no way they win the Cup. They are still a 2 man team.
As a kings fan I’m going to list things we need to do and I hope we’re on the same page
1. Get rid of luc and Rob
2. Red rod of PLD’s contract or atleast try to get a coach to fix this guy
3. We need more leaders to get our group in check
4. Get rid of England, Roy, gavrikov, Moore, etc.
5. Bring up Clarke, Portillo, Turcotte, Thomas.
6. Get a new coach and GM and preferably a system that uses an offensive system instead of this 1-3-1 garbage
7. We need to use our offensive players more like Kaliyev and put them in a better situation rather than focus on defense first which imo is ruining this team heavily by wasting their skill on playing defense. And much much more.
What makes all the difference is the low scoring wins, we know the oilers can go silly and score 4 plus goals in a game. Keeping less than 3 goals out of our net is the real trick.
Thanks oilers for bouncing the rif raf out of the playoffs in a timely manner unlike the canucks who are lagging
I wish My team had a Zach Hyman type character. Also Off night McDavid is still better than most on their best day.
McLeod being fast and everywhere helps a lot too. He pushes and puts pressure on the puck so often and has been in some awesome places to help defend the net.
They are alright at best as they still need to work on a lot of areas to become pretty good. Lets see what happens when they play a good team.
Leafs fan most likely spouting gibberish. McDavid and Drai are 2nd and 3rd all time points/game performers in the playoffs… Let that sink in Leafs fans.
Leafs fan most likely spouting gibberish. McDavid and Drai are 2nd and 3rd all time points/game performers in the playoffs… Let that sink in Leafs fans. 66 points combined in the last three first round series (18 games)… yes that is correct 66 points!
100%PK, 45% PP not good enough? Terrifying is only putting it very mildly….winner of the Preds/Canucks series is going to be tired and worn – I think Evan BbouchBomb is #DaBomb
Whoever said McDavid isn't a playoff performer is about as braindead as they come.
Him and Draisaitl have been the most dominant playoff players of their era. Only Gretz being more productive.
You need a supporting cast, No player can do it on their own.
