Van vs Oilers isn't a rivalry. Oilers have owned Vancity when it counts. Hell, half the time Vancity owns Vancity.

1) Odds in pro sports mean dick all (except for betting people and their $) BUT that said, WHY would the Oilers be the favourites going in? DID the Canucks not beat them 4 times or something like that and finished higher in the standings? 2) a team of like 20 or so guys around the same building on the same bus/plane, same hotel rooms and barely see each other only say "hi"….interesing

Miller has to be the most well rounded player we have on and off the ice. Glad we have him on our side.
Very fortunate to have JT on our side. The most well rounded player in the league this season IMO. Deserves and represents the A like a true leader.

JT Miller…to stop the Oilers PP all you have to do is deny then a possession based entry…this alone forces them to become a Dump and Chase Team which by proxy reduces their in-zone possession times… there are different ways of neutralizing the Up-Speed Support playaction the Oilers use to gain zone entry on the PP…same playaction focus Pasta used to sink the Leafs just applied differently, its easier to react to a high speed Rush based attack if you are moving E/W , knocking them off their line hard enough to slow them down is the key so your feet have to move and you have to enter the check body first nice and clean and then once you establish contact you can use your stick to sweep up. Watch some videos of old school hip-checks where guys skate backwards and cut across the zone E/W at accelerated speeds causing epic highlight reel Completely Legal and Clean explosions, the only clean way to meet and defeat Mcdavids speed head-on is with your arse so you cannot be called for any penaltys unless your arse grows tentacles….and cutting as fast E/W as he is going N/S for this is the ONLY way to match his speeds ….do the math and the Physics. Make it be known you will be using LEGAL CHECKS this way so its not a surprise or controversy…. and we all know that Schultz has altered Skinners style to cheat to the glove side so he can keep his arm down and cut off the Elbow-Bone shot(impossible to do)….leaving his blocker side and high glove side(he goes down early on purpose) and 5-hole as viable targets…his lateral movement can be impaired by mechanics so wrap-arounds bounced off of him as he slides back into his crease will slip in especially blocker-side. Skinner has issues managing his Gap when he comes out of his net..so those chip shots off of his back ad the back of his pads will be re-directed into the net by his momentum as he is to slow/ late to close the Gap .
Not one player or coach makes a team, whether that is success or individual nominations. While I do agree that Vancouver will have to be firing on all cylinders to compete with Edmonton, they did show they can be a two trick pony like this stage last season. Over a 7 game series that should be in The Canucks favour. We shall see. Thank God at least one Canadian team will be in the next round to represent Canada, because I really don't want Bettman and co having another fckn American side win the Stanley Cup, even though it is still advantage to them with 2 rounds to go. Simply shyte for the game and a disgrace how long it has been….Montreal in 93'…since the cup has been this side of the border. 🙄🙄🙄
