I remember watching Marner doing 16 stickhandles through the neutral zone with not a soul on him, taking twice as long and letting bostons defence set up, then passing it for a weak shot on net.
Lindholm didn't cross the centre line on that OT goal. Icing.

That was a great analysis of the OT goal. So thatās what Keefe meant when he said ābeat themselvesā BUT they did it in game 6? And Boston changed their breakouts and Leafs did not adjust? Even with no power play, you could have won. But are you tinkering to get by Boston or to the Stanley cup final? Work on power play. Get better in D zone and Woll is your goalie. Did Keefe say what he did to say āthese guys donāt listen?ā Or you canāt win playing this style?

Trying to find problems? Start from the top down, start with shanahan. After you address the real problems you can get down to ice level.
Terrible special teams and a lack of pucking moving defencemen. Its never a good sign when Joel Edmondson looks like your best offensive defencemen. Goaltending was fine and so was their play 5 on 5.
The Leaf's have overpriced premodanas that can perform in the playoffs. The D core was nowhere to be found. Yes Sammy let some soft goals in, but he can't score. The 4 core and the coach are to blame.
Yep, Caps fan here. Sometimes Sammy played really well. Then 2 minutes later he was on the ground doing his impression of a breakdancing starfish. I was not sad to see him go.
Sammy wasn't the reason they lost. If the goalie holds it down to 1 goal, it's 100% on the skaters and it doesn't matter what the goal looked like.
Leafs score 1 goal and everyone still blames the goalie. If the leafs capitalize on that 3 on 1 they win the game, but Edmundson of all players was one that got to be the shooter on that playš
In no way was that Samsanov's fault. He's screened, the shooters on the right side, he has to cover the low post. Your goal scorers need to score. Marner had the passing lane covered.
I was pulling for the leafs in this series and Sammy imshould def be done in Toronto but hes not the reason they lost game 7. No Leaf offense. Lots of chances with not a lot of results.

Hello Steve and friends. Iām a usual on your channels and I normally appreciate your conversations. However, I must say you guys are really mean with Sammy and I donāt think itās appreciated by many fans. He let in 1 goal in regulation on a game 7. Simply put, he did his job. The guy tries hard and doesnāt deserve this criticism for game 7.

These recent Leafs teams remind me of all early 2000s rangers teams where they bought every big name they could just to quickly get destroyed in the first or second round year after year… Its just not the way to build a contender! Their has been little to no continuity on the bottom 6!
The whole series comes down to one deciding factor. The power play. Two or three timely PP goals and Leafs are playing Florida.

This is why home ice advantage is so important. Lindholm probably shot that puck hundreds of times, figuring out how the puck would bounce. If the game was in Toronto he would never have had the chance to figure it out. It's a beautiful set play that a visiting team would probably not be able to execute.

What happened is the organization paid 4 players who canāt score in the playoffs half the cap.
Any goaltender who lets in 1 goal in 60 minutes of hockey did his job. An average GAA is around 3 most of the time. He let in 1 goal. I don't care what the goal looked like, Sammy did his job.
Look at your offense. That's where the problem was.
