  1. This group of Avalanche players haven’t won a game 7, including losing to Dallas in 2020…I predict this will go 7 games and that Colorado wins it. Most teams have to win a game 7 or two to win the cup and it seems like that is gonna be necessary this year for Colorado…and I expect them to get over that hump finally

  2. The series will be decided by Georgiev's (or his backup's) ability to keep their save percentage above .900. If they do, Avs in 5 or 6.

  3. I don't see how the Avs get passed Dallas, but hopefully they break the streak of being put out by the Stars.

  4. I'm an Avs fan and I can't pick a winner. So I'll just say that if the Avs win they do it in 6. If the Stars win they do it in 7. And I honestly won't be surprised if either team gets swept or win it in 5. I'll only be surprised if the games aren't close.

EDIT: Just want to add that I believe that Dallas has the better depth and goaltender. Colorado needs to swarm Dallas early and keep the pressure on for a full 60 minutes to win. I'm hoping the break helps the Avs. Having a break is a double edge sword. It gives rest but it can also kill momentum. Should be a great series

  5. The Stars have just as good of an offense as Colorado it’s just not as top heavy. Dallas had 8 20 goal scorers this season, Colorado 4. Colorado was 1st in regular season goals Dallas 3rd (8 less). Yes they blasted the jets but the jets were a good team but the knights were a great team.

  6. There are 30 teams happy about the result last night and the avs aren’t one of them. Vegas would have been the wayyyyy easier matchup. They were the worse team in the series against Dallas. And the avs would have had home ice. But, in order to be the best, you have to beat the best. Winning the cup ain’t supposed to be easy.

  7. The Duchy trade is what got Colorado on the map again. He's been through a few teams since. Interested to see if he's able to perform in a playoff series against Colorado.

  8. There’s also context to that Avs loss in 7 in 2020. Avs were absolutely battered and missing a ton of people due to injury. We were also on our third string goalie in Andrew Hammond for that game 7. And it went to OT. I know I’m an Avs homer, but that series was insanely close and it was 1/2 an AHL team against a pretty healthy Dallas team. This year should be A LOT more competitive. Dallas has gotten a lot better too.

  9. I feel like people are sleeping on the Avs a bit this year. They have something like 12 players still on the team from the cup winning year when they seemed unstoppable. Last year they got knocked out early, sure, but they had lots of injuries and hadnt filled the holes left by landeskog, kadri and burakovsky. They've since retooled and guys like middlestadt are thriving right now. If Georgie can stay decent in net im not sure anyone beats the Av's
