Leaf fans should hate Kyle dubas. He fucked this team over royally. He had all the trade chips to piece together a complete team. Instead he focused on trying to fitness and outscore opponents.
Look, Marner did not have a great playoffs this year, but he’s been a consistent performer in many of the years prior. I’d much much rather see Keefe gone than Marner. Anyone could’ve coached this extremely talented roster to a playoff spot over these past few years. It requires a much better coach to actually get further than that though.
Tou watch nothing changes at all. They will ride out next year. Wait for Tavares contract to expire and then use that money to pay Mitchell and shore up the d and goaltending…in short they will never win a cup with these guys in my opinion.

Florida and Boston handled the Leafs too easily in the regular season and in the playoffs. The writing was on the wall for a first round exit. No one has all the answers. But we do know that 50M for the core won’t work in a cap era

Does Marner really need to go? maybe Will Toronto be closer to winning the cup without Marner? probably not Regardless what changes may be in the offing, Toronto likely will remain a very good tier 2 team in the EC for the foreseeable future.

They should have given Rielly the C from the get-go, but after seeing him be the only one to not just ramble cliches I think it's even more clear now than it was then.
Ask yourself Marner or Domi and Bertuzi. Easy call Marner can drop it on anyone's stick miles ahead of both Domi and Bertuzi.

I was born with a brain that works really well and I spent my school years coasting to a B+ average. No hard work. Didn't even deserve the basic intelligence. Just lucked into it.
I RECOGNIZE coasting when i see it. This team has been coasting on its basic level of talent.

They should be pushing for the Prez Trophy. But that requires too much hard work. Easier to coast knowing they will easily make the playoffs and attain their regular season personal stat goals.

The guy has played amazingly even in the playoffs!
Just look at his career playoff stats he's got the most points out of any active leaf, has more hits and blocked shots then nylander, best +/- out of the core 4, has the same amount of penalty minutes as nylander, plays in every situation because he has good hockey sense and defensive tendencies.
I say he's definitely worth the money and he's the second best player on the leafs besides matthews.
They should focus on getting a better goaltender

Matthews not admitting what his injury was seems very suspicious. Is he afraid that he will look bad by admitting his injury? Maybe it wasn't that serious and he could have played through it. Maybe that is why he doesn't want to admit his injury.
Goaltender could have played that final puck off the corner boards with his stick before the OT goal ended the season! Lack of reflexes! Would have been a pivotal intervention!
