  1. the owners and staff might have confidence in you, but as of right now, i dont think any fans do. Prove us all wrong, but let me tell you. If this next season starts off rough and we miss the playoffs again, youre gonna have a rough next 3 years

  2. Come on by’s let’s be proud we finally got a new head coach to make this team run on full speed ahead!! Come on by’s let’s get er done next season let’s get er done! Been rooting fer sens since 97/98 season and they and you guys will always be my team!! Welcome Travis!!

  3. He might not be the best available coach, but it was quite possible he was the best one willing to come here. I'm gunna give the guy a chance. I hope for the best and reserve judgment until i see the teams record this November

  4. Looking forward to a Greener approach. How can you win without been given a chance. Looking forward to the new phase. Go Sens Go

  5. They should process the accountability, or be accountable to the process, something like that.

  6. As a Die had Sens fan since I was a kid (20 years) – I'm tired of the typical politician approach. Saying the right things, then when it comes time to deliver, big time failure. I am fed up with one nice playoff run in the past 11 years. It's a disgrace, it's frustrating beyond belief. We need to have an OUTSTANDING October/November. No excuses. I will go on record saying this coach will not be here for the entirety of his contract.

  7. I think Staios is being experimental at the start but it does seem like the same old same of dev coach hire and then playoff coach hiring cycles will continue. I want us to go back to that late 2000's level of competitiveness.

  8. This was a monetary decision. 4 year deal for Green at approx $1.5M/year. Berube is rumoured to be in the $5-6M/year for his next coaching gig. I think Sens fans who are saying other coaches don’t wanna come to Ottawa are actually wrong. Other more prominent coaching names don’t want to come because the Sens simply can’t pay to money needed to attract a top tier coach—not even close! This 4 year deal for Travis Green will make him one of the lowest paid coaches in the NHL. Andlauer simply doesn’t have the budget to hire a top tier or big name coach. As a result, this is what you get—just a dude, who’s coached and played in this league, but hasn’t really accomplished much in either role.

  9. When Staois (himself one of the lowest paid GM’s in the NHL—likely bottom 3) says they conducted a thorough search, I think he forgot to add; under the financial constraints we operate under. When your budget for an NHL coach is less than $2M/year, this is what ya get! Top tier coaches or high profile coaching names in this league command $4-6M/year—no way in hell Sens ownership was gonna fork over that kinda dough. As a result, Staois had to go coach-shopping with a low-limit credit card.

  10. “I know coaches get judged on their coaching records, but there's also a lot more to it." Staois.

TLDR; they’re besties with besties so don’t test these besties
