I’ve only followed the Avs for a few years, but Maxy’s passing hit me surprisingly hard. He was born the same year as both my dad and stepfather (a day before my dad, in fact), and died just a few months after my stepfather also died from cancer. Everything I ever heard of him painted him as a genuine and decent human being. Happy birthday to a legend.
People forget how much of monster scoring machine he was and a fucking bad ass. Go watch the video of him and his teammate with the Bruins going in the stand to beat up people.

Thank you OP for calling him Peter/Maxy, and not the other name. I feel like if you can’t say that nickname to his family’s face, or Moser/Ryker/Altitude’s face, then let’s not say it here about our passed legends laid to rest. This guy deserves nothing but our upmost respect. Always and forever an Avs legend who saw it all!
