  1. Great moves by Chuck.

    Love Risto!!!

Getting rid of Voracek, Gostisbehere, and Patrick…

    WOW!!! Dreams can come true!!!

  2. Chuck gave the team options and like you said, did so without much risk. I'll admit that after moving Ghost for nothing in return and going after Risto with such a high asking price, I was upset. But looking at all the moves as a whole, it makes a ton of sense now why Chuck did what he did. The team gained realized talent in exchange for some potential talent. We also gained veteran players with absolutely no risk cost/contract-wise.

I feel good about it and we still have room to make more moves down the road or recoup draft picks if needed. Other teams might have gone after bigger names, but the cost of those names was not feasible for the Flyers, knowing that we had more holes to fill. Needed a true top pairing D for Provy and we got it, needed a tougher D man to fill in the 2nd pairing and we got it. Needed cheap vets to cover: backup goalie and the back half of the defense and we got them. It hurts losing Jake, but go back to last season, where fans were frustrated that we had playmakers, but no shooters….now we have Atkinson! Yandle is not a flashy guy, but he's super dependable, stays healthy, and brings veteran knowledge. Risto is NOT a top pairing guy, so he may thrive on the 2nd line and ppl will love him once they see how strong he is. Acquiring Jones as the backup G could have success playing in front of more defensive depth and it gives us all a clear message that Hart is "the guy" moving forward, I think Carter wants that motivation. This was a solid off-season LFG!!!

  3. The communication between the Goaltenders and the coaching staff are going to be crucial in the outcome of this season.
