This is why I miss the Cap.. him on the ice he would have went after Benn after the hit…

I’m upset that one of our players nearly missed being on the shelf.. and the hit is borderline after looking at it. I know might be unpopular.. but NOBODY went after Benn. I mean shit talking means nothing! The dude went after your boy and you do nothing to him? Legal or illegal hit.. you go after him.

    No he wouldn’t have.

We were mounting a comeback. He sin’t fucking the team over by a 5 minute major or anything for retaliation. Or game misconduct.

Benn was avoiding it all. He took a punch after that third goal, got checked almost onto the bench by Manson and just skated away. The only way Benn was getting in a scrap would have been if the Avs did something super dirty.

I kinda share your sentiment – however, as u/little-nikas pointed out, this is probably why there wasnt an immediate scrum, or extracirricular .

I don’t think Benn meant to hit his head but he did and so I think it was worth a penalty. Does Benn deserve to be fought, sure. No one went after Benn because the Avs looked asleep until the 3rd. That was such a low point in the game

  5. I mean Manson did rock him into his own bench. Judging by his ridiculous face reaction I think he felt that one and respected the hit and took it since he knows what he did

It’s not that Landy would have gone after him after the hit. It’s more that Landy would have set the tone earlier in the playoffs and/or the series.

He would have kept his nose clean, kept everyone focused, and played harder through the rest of the game. Which is actually what they did, his leadership rubbed off and is continued through Mac and the rest.

Nobody is fighting in the playoffs except for extreme circumstances.
