  1. They've been relying on binnington standing on his head for too long. They need to score and take the pressure off the goaltender.

  2. This team will have no success until they get rid of Kyrou. Hes a Maple Leaf if Ive ever seen one. Bennington hands down should have won the Vezina. They are not going to split the net. Benningtons contract is the best one in the entire league. If anything Hofer gets traded for a defenseman

  3. Everything about this team has just felt flat the last two seasons. They have no consistency or passion. And promoting Bannister was not a step in the right direction. I’m not optimistic about the next season at all.

  4. Hey Shannon love the channel been watching for years, keep up the great work! Armstrong said he’s looking to extend Buch not trade him. And Blues prospects were just on the cover of the prospect edition of the hockey news so I think they are better off there than you have credit. Blais was awful he’ll be gone with the other ufas. Blues should add Chandler Stephenson or Adam Henrique to fill the top 9 and add a bottom 6 guy until Dvorsky/Snuggerrud and others make the team. Hayes should be moved or bought out or on 4th line. Obviously move Krug if you can but if not his NTC is down to 15 teams or something so becomes more do able then. Tucker and Kessel should take on more ice time on defense. Bolduc should be a solid top 9 guy and see what Dean does. I expect them to push for a playoff spot all season and I think they can get in.

  5. A lot of what hurt them was the bottom six forwards. Hayes was a disappointment and guys who did well when picked up during the year last season like Kappanen, Blais, and Vrana regressed badly.

  6. On paper they remind me of Calgary – good #1 goalie, decent depth, couple of holes in the roster. Unlike the Flames, I think the Blues can still live-up to their potential. But, since they share a division with Nashville, Winnipeg, Minnesota, Dallas, Colorado, and potentially even Utah, it'll be WAY tougher to make the playoffs unless EVERYONE takes a step back. I'd lean towards short re-tool, but with the right moves in the off-season, pushing for playoffs could work-out, too.

  7. Need to move either Faulk or Krug, add a defensive Dman and pickup a 2C.
All easier said that done. But if they did that, they could absolutely be a playoff team next season.

  8. Blues fan since 1968. We are in good hands with GM Armstrong. I see Faulk possibly getting moved instead of Krug. Anything we can get for Kyrou is a bonus. Maybe our number 1 pick, Kyrou, other players, Faulk or Krug. Who knows.

  9. I think they make the playoffs next year. I thought they would this year going in and they were there up until the end. I think the ceiling is still a wild card next year unless some big changes happen this offseason on the blue line. I think it'll take until next offseason for those big changes to come though.

  10. Then use the Kyrou and Faulk money to sign a couple of forwards with some grit. I have always liked Faulk. Maybe he was injured more than they say. He just didn’t play real well this year.

  11. I like our young players coming up. If we can somehow trade Krug and add a top flight blue liner to go along with Parayko and maybe an Armstrong surprise, yaneverknow..

  12. I think we need to see one of Perunovich or Krug (preferably Krug, but one of them) moved this summer. We can't effectively shelter/pair both up and play structured defense with 2/3 of our LD being offensive, small PMD that aren't great defensively – the Leddy/Parayko pairing can't be relied on to eat ALL the tough defensive minutes again next year. We need a better partner allowing player x/Faulk pairing to take some of those defensive zone starts and PK minutes.

We need a 2C stop gap for 2-3 years to shelter/insulate and allow our kids to acclimate/grow into top 6 roles when they're ready as opposed to throwing them to the wolves in game 1.

Dvorsky, Dean and Bolduc are all top 9 candidates – but should not be expected to be top 6 players from game 1 for all 82 games next year. Alexandrov/Dean are likely competing for a bottom 6 role – but I don't expect either of them to be in the top 6. I expect Lidstein to play in the SHL again next year and break camp with the Blues in 2025, competing with Snuggerud for a role in the NHL and whoever doesn't seize the role should be playing huge minutes in Springfield for the T-Birds.

  13. I am very interested in seeing how Dvorsky pans out, he was slaying it in the minors. As for people calling Neighbors goals all garbage goals, the Blues have needed that front of net rebound presence for a while now. Keep taking out that trash Jake!!

As for Bannister I am happy with the 2 year deal, but I was not happy on the letting go of Chief as a kickstart to mediocrity.

It was hard being the highest point team that did not make the playoffs.

  14. Im very positive with them this year, they were ahead of where I thought theyd be, Parayko looked like the Parayko he could be, again a similar sentiment as the other people here we gotta move faulk or Krug, and maybe pick up a few pieces here and there, very solid year from where we thought we were

  15. I think the Blues need a year of certainty. Change sometimes works immediately. Sometimes it needs to simmer. What can they next year… better question is what can they do in the draft?

  16. The record doesn’t tell an accurate story of this season. They were bad for multiple stretches of the season and had to fire Chief not even half way through. It was incredible that they were somehow playing meaningful games down the stretch but I think that was more attributed to other teams in the west playing poorly. Not to mention we got swept in the season series to the worst team in the NHL.

  17. More than anything, I’m glad Blues fans aren’t general managers, because holy crap have I seen some awful takes online. I agree with a lot of the comments on this video, though. This season was less painful than I was expecting. I don’t think the Blues are in too deep of a hole, but they’ve gotta get their goalies some help. If nothing else, all the bloated veteran contracts got one year shorter.

  18. Their record last year was due in large part to goaltending. The D were not that much improved. I think the Blues will compete for a wild card next season, but not much more. The Krug and Kyrou contracts are major problems.

  19. Blues fan here since 1988 (8 yr old witnessed Hull and Federko on the same line). This team would be in th playoffs if they didnt lose to SJ twice!!!

  20. I think they have the right coach to work with the next couple of rookies. That wll be fun to watch. Playoffs next year are a coin flip.

  21. since dvorsky didn’t play a whole season, if you track his scoring pace for an entire juniors season, he ends up with around 110-115. That is the same as Wyatt Johnston’s junior career, which was only 1 season. If dvorsky can come to this team as the blues version of wyatt johnston(who is kicking ass left and right atm), then this team is wildcard 1 playoff calibre(i totally still this from jeremy rutherford)

  22. The big issue is defense. They’ve got prospects I feel can fill that depth scoring role. Defense is the big weakness and cannot be fixed from within. They really lack any top tier defensive prospects.

  23. blues shouid still be looking to beef up their prospects list and add young players. schenn, krug and buchnevich should all be moved out. all free agents should be shown the door. try to find a few young players that other teams are trying to move on from <especialy defenseman> and hope that you get lucky with one of them. dont worry about playoffs next year and hold back from using capspace unless its to pick up a player another team must move for cap resons and they fit the blues age gruop. blues are a couple of years from being a playoffs team.

  24. Without our goaltending we would be around 25th-30th in the standings. I’m beyond bummed that Snuggerud decided not to sign this season but I understand that he doesn’t want to get slotted in to another crap season, better to wait for Hayes’ contract to expire and the team to bring up Dvorsky, Bolduc, Dean and Theo Lindstein so that all of a sudden it’s a younger team like an Anaheim or AZ (Utah)
