Even if he let in a couple soft ones in the last game, I think he can bounce back. Draisatl and Henrique are both still day-to-day, he’s still got the confidence from a big win, and I’m sure the coaching staff is doing everything they can to prepare him for game 2.

I’m ready for him to have a great game!

He’s played great in the regular season and playoffs. I have full confidence in him. Even in 2011, Luongo let in a couple softies. It’s going to happen.

Getting this experience at 23 years old is going to do wonders for Arty’s future.

Lets hope he can bounce back, but more so we need defenders not to pull an Ian Cole. Silovs was overall decent. One muffin, but the others you can reasonably blame on gaffs by Cole.

Just watched the BMo recap video. Didn’t realize how many of edmontons goals were randomly tipped. I knew about the weak one Cole got a piece of but really Arty wasn’t at fault for many of them. LFG Arty!!!

  6. The juniors and now his play performance in these playoffs, this man’s value is rising like a rocket

Desmith’s last game was near perfection, that being said I still want silovs in net till we lose and he has a stinker

  8. The one time I thought he might be “out of his league” is when he didn’t follow the play behind the net and Nuge got that shot off the post. That was a lucky one! But I hope he has a bounce back game and we don’t get into a penalty fest. I’m nervously stoked for game 2! Let’s go!

As a Latvian Panthers fan I am rooting for a Panthers Canucks final just so I’m happy either way. Take care of our little goalie, he’s a gem.

  10. He’s earned one more shot. Again people, we don’t know when Demko will actually return. Don’t mental boom our two remaining goalies

Arty seems like the sort of guy that comes back stronger after a mediocre performance. He’ll be looking to fuck Edmonton up

  12. Dangerous-Finance-67

At this point how can you not play the guy? He’s one of the best stories and Tocchet is a story-guy.

    The Stanley Cup requires stories.

Right choice imo, switching around too much at this point sort of signals uncertainty and a lack of confidence in the team.

Silovs shows incredible potential and has demonstrated an ability to perform well under pressure. I think his mindset and general calmness is important for the team too. It’ll be great experience for him either way. Arty Party!

We need the crowd to be loud when the puck is in the oilers end and less loud when it’s in the Canucks end. There were a couple of moments that could have turned sour last game and I think it’s because goalies couldn’t hear anything (rnh post and one play where the puck bounced on the other side and Silovs was looking the other way, took like a few seconds for him to know where the puck was)

  15. I fully believe in this kid! Arty Party let’s goooo

Good call. While he didn’t have his best game on Wednesday night, he still helped us get the win. You don’t just pull your starter because he had a game where he let in a couple questionable goals. He still has all the momentum. Therefore, it’s best to go with him. To clarify, DeSmith has been solid too but Siloves just seems to be the most comfortable goalie in net right now. He’s also only lost one game this post season.

  17. Hairy_Recognition_46

Not bad, you can still go DeSmith in game 3 in Edmonton where he’s won twice

  18. StandardDocument5365

I admire the confidence Tocchet is showing in Silovs.

Especially after last game. Give the guy a chance to bounce back!

  19. Jordsport

Ian Cole won’t have a bad game like that again, I have tons of confidence in Arty and Cole to have a bounce back performance.

Ride the Silov train into the future!

    He be hot.

    we ride at dawn.

  21. Knight_On_Fire

He just needs to be a match for Playoff-Skinner. Not a tall order.

  22. Just wondering is DeSmith ready or is he still injured?

  23. A bad game from Silov just gives him things to work on and luckily we came away with the win. Fighters always say they learn way more from the losses than they do from their wins (I know we didnt actually lose but you get the idea)
