…and with the 13th pick in the draft, the Minnesota Wild are proud to select:
“13. Minnesota Wild: Tij Iginla, LW, Kelowna-WHL
Iginla is a riser within teams so I could see him be long gone by 13. If he is here he checks the skill and compete boxes Bill Guerin would be looking for. Michael Brandsegg Nygard or Adam Jiricek make sense for the Wild as well.”

Hard to imagine Iginla being there considering how shallow the pool is his name alone will carry more weight than the average draft, that being said theres enough kids of pros being good themselves to make it enticing.

no chance we get iginla when he’s rising in the rankings And calgary picks ahead of us.
i’d like brandsegg-nygård, to be honest- i’m really liking what i’m seeing out of him at worlds so far
His dad was the greatest scorer in Wild history, love to see him still available at 13. Kinda doubt it though
I think we’re in a good position to get one of those top 6 defensemen or a forward that may fall because teams are taking D. If we take best available that is.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Billy big balls trades up this draft. We got a couple of “undesirables” and we are setting the foundation for 2025.
Imagine us getting Iggy Jr and him putting up thr same numbers his dad did against thr Wild, but now against the Flames.
If Iginla is there, freaking take him. The name alone sparks PTSD. It wouldn’t hurt as much if Calgary gets him (since they don’t share divisions anymore), but goddamn if Iginla: Flame Killer doesn’t sound nice.
