  1. Poor little american boy, his trauma will never go away just as the kids from Gaza, Israel, Ukraine…

  2. I'm a canes fan. I was born in Raleigh. With that said, I give it to the Rangers. I am glad that the canes did not just roll over and get swept like last year. Hey, it could always be worse (Maple leaves cough cough). Congrats to the Rangers and their fans, y'all earned those W's. Good luck in the rest of the playoffs!

  3. I'm not gonna lie, the refs handed them this game. With about 2 minutes left in the third, Aho gets pinned against the boards for a longer period of time than just a hit, considering the puck wasn't anywhere near him. The puck was stolen by a cheap missed holding penalty and an empty net goal. if that was actually called it could have easily changed the outcome of the game. Then you have the first 3 games where the Rangers were pushing shoving tripping boarding cross-checking and all that good stuff with barely any penalties but there's too many to put in one comment šŸ˜‡

  4. You should make a video on the canes goaltending. Itā€™s laughable, they rostered like 5 keeps this year and they are all garbage. Seriously the only thing stopping from Carolina going deep.

  5. As a Canes fan, I felt like this was the finals. The Rangers are definitely built to win. Congrats Rangers, wish you best of luck šŸ¤ž

  6. Carolina is just not good enough to win a cup yet. They have too much defense and too little offense and it kills them every time in playoffs where defense matters so much less than just getting pucks in the net. Thatā€™s why the goalies matter so much when it comes to playoff time. Because you have to rely on them to be better so your defense isnā€™t just blocking shots. Itā€™s never an effective strategy to play defensive hockey when youā€™re against another defensive minded team that has good goal scorers like panarin. Carolina doesnā€™t have a transition thatā€™s fast enough to take advantage and switch into offensive hockey.

  7. Big Hurricanes fan here. I am disappointed that we lost, but this series was pretty fun. Great battle between two ultra-talented teams, the Rangers just wanted it more than us. Good luck to y'all against either Florida or Boston.

  8. I am a Rangers fan, but I am also a Stars and Hurricanes fan (my Hurricanes fandom is a carryover from their Whaler days). I am happy and psyched that the Rangers won. But, I can acknowledge that this is an absolutely brutal loss for the Hurricanes and their fans. I thought that this was their best team in the Brindamour/Aho/Svech era, as they finally had healthy goaltending, and they finally took a big swing with the Guentzal trade, just to fall short once again.

This series kind of reminded me last year's Hurricanes/Panthers conference final, or of the 2014 Rangers/Kings Cup Final, which is viewed by some as a '"close" five game series. I think that a good comparison for this current Canes team would be the 90's and early 00's St. Louis Blues: always a solid team, but always just good enough to get knocked out by the Red Wings, Avs, or Stars on their way to a Cup Final appearance.

I think that it's an interesting offseason coming up for the Canes. It seems like they might be one piece away, but how do you get it? Do you radically remake the roster and play a different style? Or, do you stick with it, and hope that one year the bounces go your way (think the 2018 Capitals)?

  9. As a die-hard Rangers fan, I know better than to expect an easy ride. In fact, I'm kinda glad we didn't sweep the Canes. They've been through a lot since Game 1 of this round. I'd rather have it this way than sweep both rounds. That would have meant a long wait between rounds, which is never good in the playoffs. Every team we face from now on is gonna be tougher. As a fan, I'll be a nervous wreck until we finally get that fourth win, no matter how the series goes. One shift, one period, one game at a time until we reach the ultimate goal!!!

  10. Hoping it'll be Canucks/Panthers in the final cause of the ridiculous travel involved šŸ˜‚

  11. I hope the Canes got that kid a signed stick or something like that. Good learning experience for him…sometimes your team loses and it hurts, but he'll get over it. Canes are a great team. A Cup in their near future is certainly possible.

  12. That kiddo broke my heart. His loyalty to his team when things go badly demonstrates character. The Canes should send him an autographed jersey.

  13. Yeah, I'm a Rangers fan and I expected them to take this series, and the next series but this was a strange one. A couple games, I think 1 & 2 they won but appeared to be outplayed they still seemed to have control of the games…and game 6 Canes ringing 2 goal posts only to surrender the 2 goal lead. I mean you look at this series and say the Rangers had 2 things the Canes didn't, goaltending and luck as they appeared dominated and outchanced much of the time…but if you look deeper the Canes had very few screens, very few in close deflection chances and the Rangers achilles heal aka the slot was pretty well covered mostly…I'm enthralled, been a Rangers fan for many years and I forgot what it's like to have a coach who actually employs strategy.

  14. The fact that no one seemed to comfort that young boy and he was just left there crying by himself at the end of the game will always irritate me.

  15. apparently in game 5 some flu like sickness was going around the rangers locker room, which may explain the level of poor play by NYR in game 5

  16. Brindā€™ Amourā€™s rigid commitment to the system is going to end up costing him his job. Heā€™s a good coach, but he cant switch anything up mid period, and itā€™s really starting to show in Playoff series year after year.

  18. Would've rather seen a Bruins Rangers ECF, Boston vs NY never gets old. But it feels right for the Rangers to have to go through the defending conf champs to break through and get a glimpse at the cup.

    And then lose in 5.

  19. Dude, always the bridesmaid never the bride? Are you just a pretender or do you know something of hockey? Canes won cup in 2006. Went to finals in 02. And this year, you think your high paid unlimited budget birches walked past canes? Every single game was close. Matter on inches or nono seconds. Series could have very easily gone another way. So please be a real analyst and not a home team bigot and hockey pretender.
