tries to get to the middle of the Ring by beating an extra player and then it’s it comes back down the other end right like so the the recognition or not recognizing that at that point in the game it was urgent and that you had to keep the game simple and then you had to throw as many pucks that hurt them that hurt them in that in that sequence and that’s frustrating because right you’re they lost the defenseman in mik they lose barov for a little bit of time they’re starting to put pressure on them and then it’s just nope we’re going to make the extra play we’re gonna make the extra play and it’s and I think the thing and this is moving forward you we say to our kids all the time the life skill self-awareness they that team and it’s frustrating and this is what I would say you had an opportunity to win game in game uh game four in game six and you you lost in crushing fashion in both games but moving forward it’s the idea of self-awareness you play a skill game but you don’t have the skill players to be able to do it right like you’re not 2023 and and you your emphasis on looking for the extra play and possession of the puck and making plays through the middle of the rank it doesn’t work for the for it doesn’t work work for the Personnel that you have and and they have got to find an identity and whatever identity that may be they’ve got to adjust their personnel accordingly I you nailed it I mean they we mentioned this after a lot of these games they play a skilled game they’re not a skilled team I also they that final goal shows you what happens when you throw pucks on net yeah right like that’s a I I haven’t checked Natural stat trick I doubt that’s a high danger chance that’s outside the high danger area that’s outside the slot that’s just a quick follow-up shot and you know obviously the Bruins had I think they had the the advantage in high danger chances tonight they had you know they Lord knows I mean makoy had that tip wide in the second period he had that break to the net in the third and I think like to go back to what you mentioned about you know uh going for for chances instead of just shooting anything yeah there were times the Bruins would break through and like makoy in the third when he cut to you know from the half wall he cut to the net but there aren’t nearly enough of those plays to score consistently on and you you look at this series and you know they just thrown some more pucks on that I mean 23 shots in an elimination game and sure a lot of you know they had 10 high danger chances through two periods that’s great but passing up shots and there was even one I think it was in the third Lind Holm had it or U I wrote it in my notes they um it was uh I forget who it was but they just passed uh you know they passed over an open shot or was actually might have been in the first period too Lind passes to Frederick and it bounces over his stick and like that’s what that’s the sacrifice you make when you try to go for those High danger chances and we like high danger chances that’s not we’re not against it but this team should be shooting every single Puck and they didn’t do that tonight yeah so that’s lyol in the first in the slot looks for the extra pass to Frederick that’s posar posar walking down tries to pass back door to Marshon and then it’s makoy late has the puck right in the middle of the pal you’re not the team so I wantan to I have all the same emotions like I’m I’m sad the team overachieved like all that’s true and you should be playing in a game seven yeah right like you should be playing in a game seven you there were missed opportunities you couldn’t extend that lead no I couldn’t you still didn’t you you’re in the game and you still never forced Florida to defend and right you we keep talking about Pat maron’s one shift it’s one shift every now and again that they have extended time and everyone I saw one oh it was that one3 all right so what would you do against a 113 if they’re trying to clog up the neutral zone comment section fans what would you you do you put the puck in deep you yeah footed you turn the puck over far too much yeah I mean again like we’ll get into kind of long-term stuff we’ll get into um you know we’ll get into this team as a whole this season kind of looking back but you’re right I mean this is a missed opportunity and you look at it I mean they lost every game at home this series they lost every game at home game three game four game six game four was especially bad tonight again like you you have those chances you have those you know you have chances and and we haven’t even mentioned this yet power play completely let you down tonight completely completely and that and again like you have you you get these opportune power plays um I didn’t think the I didn’t think the officiating was bad tonight unless I’m forgetting stuff like the brazo play I mean that was not a penalty they didn’t call it one um there was might been some Mis calls throughout the game that I’m missing on that I’m sure the comment section will remind me of but like I mean that power play was useless useless it just didn’t did nothing couldn’t get anything going it’s not even a momentum Builder and that was the thing that your penalty kill with on the flip side was so good makoy takes that penalty on on kachuck right oh on Bennett sorry on Bennett Benn and they do such a wonderful job of squeezing out that power play you get a power play yourself and you couldn’t muster up anything that that the the power play was a detriment to them in this series re and had gone cold after what the first two three games against Toronto and it’s just so stagnant you you see the puck moving from Florida you see bodies moving towards the net you see exchanges of Lane and if past doesn’t get open you’ve got you’ve got nothing on that power play and I think that goes back to what we said to to make zero adjustment because I think as the series went on and I didn’t recognize it early and you can talk to me if not Florida started to get more and more aggressive on the PK started to jump passes started to challenge you to challenge you to put two passes together and you couldn’t do it yeah no trying to make make make the Bruins make plays they couldn’t do it yeah so yeah do I think Montgomery’s gone gone no I think he did enough to keep his job he’s a good coach they’ve got to find a way to to make adjustments as in game and then as series go goes on they they just didn’t make enough to to me the game the tone was set for tonight you know when I got a little bit worried so remember that opening first four shifts from the Bruins top four or for first four lines they D they hemmed the P Panthers Inc completely for almost four minutes they draw a penalty on a almost goal in front of the net power play comes out does nothing does nothing and that was when I was like all right this gonna be the same song and dance again they’re going to have they’re going to have to convert on more than one five on five chance and then zaka scores at the end of the first I’m thinking okay okay all right that’s legitimate I don’t know if I fully believe but that’s more than I expected you know zakov gets the monkey off the back but I I just I don’t know I you know to me it comes down to miss chances power play not even getting chances on the power play like and it just hits it like Florida was the better team and and that stuff is stuff they can control that is stuff they can control finishing chances power play all that my overarching thought from the series obviously the better team won we’re not denying that but I think our point is like the Bruins had chances they the Bruins had chances they had chances tonight they had chances in the first four games to even it up at 22 and just couldn’t do it just couldn’t couldn’t do it and they didn’t really ever look comfortable in this series even in the two wins it was you know good defense and they finished chances in those games that was the difference like they had similar numbers of chances in games one and five but they couldn’t they couldn’t capitalize tonight and I think it hits it like you know you don’t have the high-end skill to capitalize regularly against a team like the Panthers I I think you have to give credit too to bosi especially on bro yeah on that that play from zaka out to Brazil and he makes that blocker save like obviously there like OB on Zak’s goal and then brazo trying to elevate just not able to get it get it up as quick as possible but that I mean that was a swing of two goals right he makes that save they come back down the other end and then a lack of urgency to and the one thing we didn’t talk about and this is evident on the last goal too but evident on the on that first one except Montour is driving Middle Lane on goal number one just the the lack of Gap control allowing allowing Florida to enter the zone as if it as if Diego bass had plan at Framingham youth hockey right yes that’s how it works yeah just Zone entry back in get a shot rebound without anyone putting a body on someone from Florida so I I think that was a problem all series 2 Gap control and I initially thought that hey it’s this back pressure which which typically if you back pressure really hard as forwards the defense can hold the line didn’t hold the line at all didn’t even try a no I didn’t think I mean that first goal that they that Lindell scored you know where I think it was debrusk who blocked it in front and then they just goes kind of a scramble in front he picks it up I me again that comes from shooting the puck picking up a block shot a rebound from a block shot and I thought def I thought I thought their D weren’t great tonight um I actually didn’t mind makoy I didn’t at least I didn’t like I didn’t think he was a problem um there were issues though with icing the puck among some of the others um one person I think like you know and I see a lot of comments by the way we’re going to get into like long-term stuff I promise like we’re we’re going to get into a lot of what needs to change and what should say the same and all that stuff can’t blame Swan for this um obviously that’s a goal he wants back look crushed on the ice after the game I imagine he’ll be crushed in the post game after which we probably will have sound of I would assume I think amt’s down there now so amt’s kind of just like you know weaving his way through trying to get the videos um but you can’t blame him you cannot blame him for this I mean yeah can you blame him on the last school yeah you should have had it but that’s not even in the top 10 reasons why they lost this game um again it comes down to they didn’t finish chance but you can’t blame Swan for this loss or this series I think what you would blame him for there maybe is the rebound control on the first one probably do something a little bit better than that than kick it off into that spot but it is it’s throwing pucks on net late it’s creating a rebound and then beating someone to a spot right like that’s when you got under that seven minute Mark of the third period it was evident that whoever scored the next goal was going to win the game that’s that is over that becomes overtime hockey at that point and and this is what I would say about the Bruins Zone entries I know I’m flip-flopping but it’s not flip-flopping but moving through topics it talks it it speaks to urgency right what when when Boston pulled go the goalie and went six on five and went for Puck retrievals coming out of the Zone their Zone entry was what Evan it was a dump and Chase that’s because you it’s you you know you can’t turn it over there and why not do that the whole series if you knew what you were playing against if you knew that 113 was coming if you knew that they like to clog the neutral zone you just never did it and you never changed and I I don’t know if it’s credit to them or stubbornness you never then changed your abandon the quality shot Florida doesn’t play that way they moved on they dump in Chase they’re heavy they force you to block shots they force you to take hits and they just are in and around the Net game over they won they are they were they were and it’s interesting because there was a shift I texted you about this I think it was in the second when and that was the brzo chance Danton Heinen as the as the F3 cut off the defenseman behind the net brzo gets open in front has a one-time from the slot and I just feel like the Bruins didn’t also didn’t do enough of that either like what did you see from the Bruins for che tonight yeah the Bruins for for them do you have the Whiteboard by the way or did you not break it out for final game well I mean it’s here oh there it is one last time I don’t know who I don’t know who SE it said it was a Kevin I I thought about breaking this thing but like yeah no I it would have been fair I think we said it in that first period when I sent you a text I was like oh man pretty passive allowing for Florida to to break out so it was just oh you can’t see it it was this F1 going inside out F3 was on the or F2 on the wall here and then F3 was over top it was it was really passive it was it was back to what they had done early in the series against Toronto now obviously it was that it was that it was more successful against them but yeah they didn’t uh they didn’t change it up all that often so so Kevin Walker brings up an interesting point Carl you bring up all these valid points with run style of play you say Monty’s back all these point you bring up says Monty should be gone I I’ll kind of take that real quick and you obviously you’ll answer to it as well I think it hits at you know yeah there were some missteps in this in this in these playoffs but I think you have to look at the body of work and I know people don’t want to hear that right now but the reality is this team overachieved team overachieved and um you know we’ll talk about the roster in a bit but I think you know for Montgomery for what he did this year and what this team did I mean again they were in first place most of the regular season and then finish in second they went around they put up a fight against Florida could they should they you know did they miss opportunities of course they did no one loses a playoff series reason doesn’t miss opportunities that you know I’m not trying to make excuses for the Bruins by the way like they bungled this one or at least tonight but I you know I don’t see a world in which they move on from Jim Montgomery based off of this off of the on I stuff I just I don’t I think at the end of the day and I and he has a year left on his deal so like you know the question you know I I I would assume an extension will be in the works I would think be surprised if they they made him go into the year three with no extension no because he’s had two great regular seasons it comes down to like what can you do in the playoffs but yeah that’s my thought on that and yeah and this is what I would say especially about this year’s team and and many of the comment commenters are alluding to this right you have players in your top six that are better suited for third line roles right like Charlie Coyle probably is a second or third line Center I think he he had he did have a great regular season he did not have a good playoff you know pav Pavo Zak at Center is probably a third line Center but a second line left Winger so you have players that are out of order and I said this I said this before the other day I don’t think you’re that far off but you you need legitimate top six players that can create easy offense and you you don’t you don’t have that so I think why I think Jim Montgomery is a really good coach because consistency is a skill right like the the players that play at the highest level bring can replicate their best g game more often than not and and during the regular season over the course of the 82 games Jim Montgomery got those players to play their system every night that’s why they had 109 points and that’s not easy to do so that that message is getting through to them the issue that he that they had now that they weren’t able to make adjustments to their game when they needed to when they it was clear that they needed to make some sort of adjustments and they had too much they had too too difficult of a time to do that and they became predictable and that’s why you lost three games at home during this series and you were what in the playoffs two and four were you two and four at home they won game one against Toronto they won game seven against Toronto so you’re two and four two yeah that’s not they’ve not been good there’s something about this place they don’t play well here they don’t and they’ll even come out good like they came out good tonight but I just yeah I mean but yeah no I don’t think Montgomery’s job security is in question no not at all I don’t I don’t and I again if we you know if this was game seven and they’d lost against the Leafs it’d be a totally different thing blow a 3-1 lead two years in a round you can’t you can’t get back from that but this isn’t that this isn’t so you know and I think we’re gonna get in the roster stuff like that’s to me to me where you make your changes is as you said is like Morgan geeki is a phenomenal bottom six guy and he’s a great forward you can bring up in mid January when a top six player has an injury and he can fill in as a center he can fill in as a right wing um and that’s awesome but he’s not a top you know he’s not a number one Center on an Eastern Conference finalist team and I to me like the fact that they were even near it yep speaks to the job that the team did in Montgomery I know people are gonna think I’m I sound like a homer when I say that but like that’s the reality of it right like if you if going into the year or you know if you said oh they’re gonna in the playoffs revert to Morgan geeky as a number one Center you’d be like oh they’re freaking toast immediately but you know to geeky by the way for stepping up and doing his best but I mean I I there’s there’s a lot to change with this roster and they have they have the money to do it that’s the other thing I don’t think this like I’m not all doom and gloom I know a lot of people like blow it up trade maoy I saw Kevin Walker say package makoy and Omar which is great you know I’m all for the crazy trade proposals as a we’re gonna need content this offseason so maybe we’ll dive into those but um I I don’t see that as the thing I think you build you build around the core that’s yeah no and I think the thing that’s frustrating from a from myself again as a fan perspective is the missed opportunity because I think the I think like we’re all saying the team had overperformed they were they’re pretty gutsy all year to be in a situation that in game six against Florida we had the opportunity to get to game seven and in game seven as we’ve seen anything can happen and I think they’ve proven that they’ve played better on the road whether it was game four or game six they had to come out with one of those and they they for me tonight for me tonight it comes down to that identity the identity crisis it’s it’s the identity crisis they don’t know who they are and they mismanage the puck because they truly I think at their core think that they’re an offensive gifted playmaking team and and that team had an inability to play in the playoff all really all playoff if you think about it they were a better team than Toronto Florida was a better team than Boston and they struggled through the Toronto series and weren’t able weren’t able to play that High paac game with Florida no they weren’t they weren’t and even like you know they they got bigger this year and kind of a way to fight you know to be able to match the physicality and it didn’t matter I don’t think it made that huge of a difference you still had some issues breaking the pcka of your own Zone um you didn’t do enough in the offensive zone not nearly enough um and I mean again like I just think that’s you’re right that’s the story of tonight you just didn’t you didn’t get your chances well you did you just didn’t finish him you just didn’t finish him like I you know like what if makoy puts that in in the second period what if brazo finishes that what you know there’s a number of plays there was a play at the end there where a puck bounced off a panther and went just wide to Bovi I mean and you can go through every game in every game there were bounces that trickled past bab rovski or this or that but again the Panthers are the better team that when you’re the better team you you get those balances or you know those balances go your way and you know I think that was the story of this series and I said it to you like if they can get to six you know they admirable effort like I know that’s not what people want to hear but I think when we look back at this and this kind of goes back to like Montgomery’s job security like you know I think a lot of people had Panthers in six a lot of people had Panthers in five and I’m not trying to make excuses because the Bruins did this to themselves a lot yeah you had Panthers in five I had Panthers in seven and there’s there’s issues with this team for sure I’m not like denying that but Panthers with the better team like that’s that was the case that was the case and I know people want me to throw like Molotov around and oh this guy sucked that guy suck it it you know they missed opportunities they missed opportunities and and this was another frustration games two three and four Florida was so good right yeah their four check was aggressive it was hard they made plays on the power play I think if you go back and you you watch games five and six it wasn’t it wasn’t gritty yes but it wasn’t the same level of of play that Florida had played with for those whatever previous three games and and there was that opportunity to walk out of there uh with with a win even though you could not score right like in two elimination games you right I don’t remember right like you scored three goals not with a with a goalie in the net like that’s not good enough no can we have an over overreaction episode I I don’t think we’re like that we we could I I mean there have been years I don’t know if people remember but like there have been year Carl you know you weren’t around for it but like you know I think it was after the 2022 when they lost to the No 21 when they lost to the Islanders in that second round I remember being like all right I think it might be time to get some new upper management but then again like I think it was 21 with the Islanders series because then 22 they lost to the hurricanes in the first round and that yeah and then they fired Bruce Cassidy after that so I think I was like on the anti-d Don Sweeney train for a little bit there then they had their season last year went all on the deadline and so I you know I again it’s a big off season this is a huge off season like I again I’m trying to look at so I’m trying to find the cap hit for next year so spot TR is saying 10 million but then I’m reading these other stories that say the Bruins if you know with the cap if it goes up to 87.7 the Bruins will have around like 27 million to spend so whatever it is they have money to spend now a lot of that is going to go towards Jeremy Swan who has more than earned a big old contract I mean my god um yeah I think 21 million is the number it seems like that is the the key and that’s a lot of money like you can you can add depth that can score you can resign guys like San you can go after guys like Ellas Lindholm um I mean that to me like that’s the big thing so I don’t think you you don’t trade any core core pieces right what do you think you asking me yeah like you don’t you’re not trade I don’t know like I look at the core okay I look at the core as makoy posto San lindol Carlo because they’re locked up long term who else is up front am I missing anybody let me know if I’m missing anybody lowai is part of that now yeah I mean you have to 22 and a half per Bruins cap space I trust Bruins cap space so 22 and a half so I mean that’s ly Holm really struggled in the playoff lolm had a tough tough night tonight and I’m just thinking as a core and I know he’s locked up for a while but if that’s the level of play that you’re going to get over the course of the what next six years I can’t imagine that’s going to get that much better now he’s capable of having a year but I mean if if I’m a GM any situation right it it to take out the Bruins aspect of it being from as we’ve said 10,000 times being from Framingham Massachusetts born and born and raised like we are Brewing Celtics Patriots Red Sox fans if you take that out any situation that I was ever the GM in I have to listen on absolutely every phone call so regard for me right now regardless and I’m trying to think through my head if I really would posh talking M I’m still listening to phone calls because at this point yeah at this point you’re in a situation where you not not a NE not necessarily a total rebuild but if someone’s willing to overspend on one of those two players and you you can make your team better in the short term and then potentially get draft Capital which you don’t have I would I would have to listen and I mean and and probably for those two players in particular I’m I’m asking for you know I’m asking for it all um everything you’re not yeah yeah I’m I want I want your best Prospect I want your first round pick and I want another potential player in the lineup like and I know that would that be a wouldn’t that be a rebuild though wouldn’t that be a rebuild though why if you’re trading like a poock or a McAvoy for first prospects no okay but I said another roster player and another roster player is you’re probably not right like you’re not getting someone’s number one Center but do you get someone’s number two right like that I’m not no I’m not willing to mortgage the present day to right like the the team still has an opportunity to win I I what I’m saying is I want the best trade that could potentially happen would be a roster player uh Prospect in a first round pick something like that but I’m listening on it I guess what I’m saying though is I’m listening on everyone but just for those two players aside like do like makoy and P I want it all if I want to win that trade well that’s the thing if you trade ma if you were again we’re speaking hypotheticals here we’re not saying we would do it we’re not saying we want to do it we’re just speaking hypotheticals here this is where I guess the overreaction part are you winning a trade if you trade those guys typically the team who wins the trade typically not all the time but mostly the team who wins the trade gets the best player you know you look at like the kachuck hubero trade kachuck was the best player Florida won that trade now that’s a kind of trade that shakes a core and that worked for Florida great obviously they’re headed to the conference final for the second straight year I am curious if there is a trade out there because that though makavo and Pock would be caliber of players that would fall under that kind of trade of like a mega Swap and I think if you’re trading maab boy for let’s just say a first a top prospect like a second and you know a roster player I still think that other teams went in the trade like obviously longterm maybe sure but those are lottery tickets like ultimately those are and I want draft picks too like to me I think the the guy who Nets you picks or a pick is omark like to me like that’s that’s the guy you want to give up and get picks for like to me I look at Colorado and again he needs to he needs to approve of it but like Colorado has a first this year like is that something they do the makoy Posh think is interesting though because again like I just I I don’t think there’s a trade out there where you can compete next year unless it’s a star for Star swap unless it’s a star for Star swap like if it’s makavo you know I I see a lot of people saying Brady kachuck like I don’t that you know he’s great Brady kachuck is awesome but is he a 50 goal scorer like David POS I mean again like think about the Bruins like in my lifetime which has only been 25 years they’ve had one really good goal scorer this David poshan I mean for years even every when they won in 2011 it’s like well they don’t have you know a goal scorer now they do they have that guy makavo Omar from Mar I’d be for it I’d love to bring K marar you mascot I would love to bring K marar home um but I I you know I don’t think I I don’t know I know we’re just disgusting I know you don’t like you’re not like oh trade makoy trade Pock but I’m just saying I’m listening I’ve gota listen I know people I know people are people are saying oh he’s a regular season goal scor the numbers in the playoffs are good he scored the overtime winner in game seven you know I think if you get more around to me you want to get more around him you want to get to me you want to build around po how you how do you get someone around him that’s the question you have the money you have the money that’s how you do it and I that free agency is not my favorite way either by the way I know but so your options at Center are Steven stamp Co who’s older and Elias Lindholm and Elias Lindholm who will then have been on his third team in a year like is that the guy that’s gonna make him much better someone said so from 12 years old till now Evan has been riding prettyy High yeah I have actually it’s been a good run it’s been a good run um in ptra as well don’t don’t forget Patra um but Patra is not a first line Center if he grows into his game not for next year either he’s a second line guy to me like and again Lind Holm is all is your best bet like I and again unless unless a swap comes up unless there is a center somewhere like Leon dry side out in Edmonton who doesn’t want to sign an extension like to me that’s the fun like you want to talk fun if if Leon Dr Idol says you know what I don’t want to come back to Edmonton I don’t want to sign an extension him and pster buddies German players typically like Boston it’s a good there’s a good history of German players enjoying Boston here that’s your guy like that’s your guy but I think realistically Lind Holm is your guy and you know two-way guy it’s an upgraded Center for for um POS you put zaka on the left like I think ins SL you know you have posto playing with better players in that situation and I think you also have to see what poso wants he’s you’re committed to him long term too and I know it’s not a good idea to always have players um pick who they play with but that’s a guy who’s here long term and you I don’t see them trading him unless there’s that star for Star swap I do Wonder though and this is going to be an interesting thing like the when the you know the Panthers got the president Trophy and then lost in the first round I think in 2122 they went and made that hubero trade now hubero was different because hubero was I think had a year left on his deal and kachuck didn’t want to be in Calgary anymore so it’s kind of like the perfect storm so I you know the Mako poshak are locked up long term the question is like you know do you Pat you know do zaka going in a package or something like that but that’s not getting anything huge that’s not getting anything huge um I want to get to a lot of a lot if I did if I did a read earlier today and had it all be Celtics and you know oh just because the Bruins are out of the playoffs so I decided not to obviously it didn’t end up mattering but I had everybody’s best interest in mind I had the listeners best interest in mind with that yes Carl I just gonna add Kevin Walker comment section I need to know two things you hate Elias ly Holm why and why is you’ve been adamant throughout this whole series Jim Montgomery is going to Seattle so if you can answer that Kevin that would be great for me I’d love to be informed on that and I’m not being sarcastic I just you dislike Lind Holm so I know lindol has I know lindol hasn’t fit well in Vancouver but I think that’s partially because they have two Topline centers in p and Miller again I’m not a Vancouver connect expert so like I you know not going to pretend to be one but I think that probably has something to do with it he’s a good two-way Center but I you know again do you want is he your number one guy for the next five to six years are you cool with that like that’s the question and if that’s the bet because again you you don’t have the picks to trade you don’t have the prospects to trade for like a top Center so free agency is probably going to be your best bet and I think that’s a dangerous thing but that’s probably going to be your best bet it would make them better next year though they rolled out zaka Lindholm poock as the top line and then you had marshand Coy and Stam Coos is that’s pretty good now you know is that Stam Coast is that toi is that J Brusque you want to have a real conversation Jake de Brusque that’s to me like that’s a really interesting one Jake de Brusque because he’s a UFA now Jake debrus is a UFA yeah I think the way he played in this playoff I think the the th the what’s been the issue with him throughout his career is the level of consistency now I will say this he’s probably consistently a 40o scorer and the same thing with makoy he has the talent to be 60 right like somewhere in that 60 to 65 range because of the place Pace that he plays with he C he can be physical at times so you want more out of him if he plays the way he played in this playoffs over the course of an 80 game schedule he’s having a really he’s having a career year right he has been able to to live up that me because of the pace that he plays with and you cannot afford to get get slower I think you pay him the five million a year like it may be more than that I’m not I think it probably ends up being more especially after this playoff run I think he fin he might have been their top score I gota check yeah I don’t but I don’t think you get into the $6 million range with him five five and a half I I would pay him like he makes four and a half right now so you’re gonna have to give him a bump but I don’t think he’s deserved that much of a bump to get that gets him into the six and6 and a half million dollar range over the I think he’s probably looking for six something um he’s 27 years old he’s 27 years old I would love to stay at five and 27 whatever that is is that 27 and a half I’d like to stay there um and do and give Don credit Don Sweeny his credit he usually is able to get players to take Hometown discounts except for poso and that’s hard you know hard to make your you know franchise player take a discount but can he get de brus to take something like that I he’s not making difference Jake Jake D brusk is not making the difference but him slotted in on your he can play with anyone he can play any sty style of game and he’s one of your quicker if not your quickest players you cannot afford to lose that because you can’t who you can’t ask then Trent Frederick to step up and play a second rooll like you can’t get slower in the top six well I think that the what I think some people are saying and I think it would be an interesting thing is you know if you don’t resign de Brusque you have the money to go out and get one or two Wingers but I I see going into the playoffs I was I think I was more Pro Moving on but he had did have a really good postseason he did like there’s no denying D BR had a good post season and I just I don’t know I wonder if there’s something there maybe he’s getting me again but in debrus you know exactly what he is so everyone that’s asking for asking to move on from De brosque Who you gonna go get like don’t tell me that you’re gonna overspend for Jake gensel right you’re not you’re not gonna overspend for that guy a guy that’s gonna look for what seven and seven and a half eight I don’t know for a Winger maybe he’s gonna get paid he’ll get paid yeah so Jake D bras if you can get him at five and a half good let take me give him to me he’s he’ll play left wing on your second line he plays fast he can be physical yeah he’s goingon to annoy you at times so I want to get to the wings in a second but first we do have we have we have audio of swayan so EMT will put that up there right now should go up there let’s see what if I do it has not Tak a no no for an answer since we were doubted from the beginning losing obviously huge pieces and everyone stepping up and and making a name for themselves and I would I would be a part of that a thousand times over if I could Tears Could Be moreful have a city have a home basee that’s that’s his supportive as as Boston and they means so much more than just fans to me it’s it’s truly a home for me now and to hear that was was above and beyond and I’m just so grateful for all the love and support and uh and we wouldn’t be here without without them so that was a that was an incredible moment to be a part of at I uh just overwhelmed with with emotion it’s it’s not about me as an individual it’s about it’s about our team and and to see it all end so abruptly is something you never want to feel but I’m just so proud of everyone and and and being here and and setting the foundation for for what’s to come next and and obviously I want to stay in the moment and really Embrace what we have in this locker room and and what we accomplish this year but that was a really special moment I’m very grateful yeah he’s here long term he’s here he’s he’s gonna get paid this off seon I have no doubt about that he like there’s no I don’t think anyone’s arguing against it either that’s probably an 8year $7 million deal s and a half maybe it’s probably going to be8 and 60 I would assume so again stinks it’s two straight years for him where he’s kind of been distraught at the end of the year but you know I do he’s he could be a playoff goalie and you know he can handle a lot of work I think that that might be one of your biggest takeaways from this postseason is that dude can play multiple games in a row yeah Swan’s a breu for life I think that’s probably true after this and I think om Mark’s gone that’s like obvious yeah I think you have the P right like I think that’s too you have the pieces if if slot in the right spots I mean you got Swan you got like makoy Carlo lorai right you even up up front like you’ve got guys like Cole’s a great second or third line Center he really is he is he does a lot does a lot of good things but when you ask him season he had a good season yeah when you ask him to produce at a high level he’s not capable of doing that that’s fine because he right same thing zaka second line Winger great geeki third or fourth line brazzo third or fourth line Frederick third or fourth line but they can’t be asked to come up and play on your first and second line it’s not and then PT slots back in he’s probably your second line guy keep D brosque you’ve got but you do have to find a number one Center or something as close to number one Center as possible you want to play this game look at free agent free agent Wings because I I know that I will talk a lot about this in the future but you might not necessarily so I want to go through some of these now oh no I mean well maybe you can come on you can come on for Bruins speed if you want okay people I think the people do want it at some point especially next year so I’m GNA go you into doing that um Steven stos Jake gensel Sam Reinhardt Anthony mantha Tyler berzi tuvo terrain Jason Zucker yakob silverberg he’s older though Verana yakob Verana Jonathan maraso uh Vladimir tereno Elias Lindholm David pan but that’s he’s 36 um well Tyler TFI he’s 32 Anthony bavil he’s 26 then you hit to Brusque this is current this is organized by current capit so like and then after that I mean like pavelski’s 40 um Anthony duclair is an interesting one for depth um Matt du Shane Max do so I mean there are interesting options out there I think you do you clearly have the money to you have the money to um you have the money to go out and add someone like that I think you can whether you you know I think you can resign you might be able to resign to brusk and do that and go out and get you know a top six Winger but yeah I agree with you Center should be number one I mean out of that group like obviously you you you’d want a Reinhard or a gel but you’re not paying for that but like do you extend for a guy like ellias Lindholm do you give him a seven or eighty year deal at 49 million you know seven times seven I don’t know I mean because he also kind of Tanked his value in Vancouver so you know might be getting him a little bit cheaper than you would have and then on the wing do you go for a guy like you know do you think about bringing brusi back you know do you think about T I know they’re older but I don’t the more I think about it the more I’m cool with Jake debrus coming back at least right now I talked you into it and he played himself into it and and MoneyWise like you have the space just don’t overpay but like you’re right you know what you’re going to get you know you’re at least getting 40 to 45 points in a down year penalty killer there’s the there’s the offensive skill can you hear that a little bit but doesn’t distract me all that much I I think you’ve got to figure out and this is an internal conversation what’s the type of team that you envision yourself to be moving forward before you make any of these decisions right like I don’t want them I don’t want to see them go out and and I’ll just pick a name like terot terrain because that’s a a good player that can play in your top six what I what I rather see them do is hey we’re gonna be we’re gonna be the Edmonton Oilers which is we are G to get up and down we’re going to live in transition we’re gonna we’re gon to kill you on the power play all right now let’s go get Steven stamco so that he can be um he can sit alongside I would love stepen Stam Coast oh I would love St just relax because I wouldn’t but I’m just saying right like I’m just I’m just saying if you want to win on the power play and you want to live in transition let’s go get him so he can uh help out passar a little bit now if you want to get a little bit uh if you want to be a North cell team that has to dump and Chase and you physically wear people out below the goal line all right maybe you’re getting maybe that is Anthony mantha someone that’s in that same thing as Jake D Brasa 40 to 45 point but now you’re building out your three lines that they’re all similar you don’t have this one top line but you’re just gonna roll people over with some sort of depth I I would I would much prefer that they have those conversations you know in top Management in in conversation with Montgomery as opposed to what they did this year which is I have it I have a vision of the way I would like to play but my Personnel is not capable of playing that way I want them to make the statement we are a possession team that is looking for high quality shots even though I just likee that and then go get those players right like they can’t they can’t put people in a position to fail which means I can’t ask I can’t ask more geeky to look for Quality shots all the time I can’t I can’t ask Justin brzo to hold on to the puck an extra time and and look for the pass like that that do that first and then let’s go get X Y and Z so like what style of play would you rather rather like highflying or like um uh Z time and wear you down I mean I think wear you down is better for the playoffs like I I that you know and it’s weird because they kind of have that right now but they go for those High danger chances so that and and you’re having a tough time getting out of your own Zone I was as you were um talking I wrote down like I’m gonna give you a a top nine for next year and I want to know if you’re cool with this right so let’s let’s just say hypothetically they roll into next year with zaka lindol poock is their first line Marian Coy de brusk as the second because you said sign to bruss and then the third line is Frederick ptra or ptra or gy in the middle and like Tyler tioli on the right are you cool with that yeah I mean I think it you’d be hard pressed to go out and get two top end free agents like that I mean I’d be okay if you’re going I mean I’d be fine if you go ptra Frederick and geeky like as your third as your third line I know I’m not thinking big enough I know I’m not thinking big enough um and I think they should think bigger but I’m saying like realistic slash like low end of what they might do because again if they bring back de Brusque he’s gonna be in the top six the pro to me the big Pro to bringing back Jake debrusk yes Kevin hampus lindol 1C I I agree and Matt looking net people forget should have been in net tonight um the the pro to keeping de Brusque over going out and getting a similar caliber Winger from somewhere else is he’s comfortable here a lot of times guys sign big deals or longer is term deals in a new place and don’t fit and suddenly you’re screwed whereas you’re right you know what you’re getting with the Brusque he’s played here he’s at his ups and downs here you know he’s again is he going to put you over the edge no he’s not but he he you can put him in the top six to me the question is again it goes back to this of like they need a number one Center but Wing depth like Martian’s getting older not saying deal him or anything like that but he’s getting older you know I do think you have to have and again if they if they roll in next year with Wingers of zaka Pops back in De brusk that’s an okay that’s a solid Winger core going forward I don’t think that’s bad but I would still try to upgrade it because it might be easier to upgrade at Wing than it is at Center yeah that’s tough you’re gonna have to go Center through free agency because you don’t have any trade assets right like you’ve got you’ve got omark but that’s probably going to get you some sort of pick I don’t he’s not getting you a first line Center the only way through trade that you’re going to get first line Center is Posh or makoy Pro you’re not going to do that and so now the only way for you to address that is through free agency and usually top centers don’t get to free agency so you’re G to pick up a number two Center that’s going to have to slot on in on your number one the only the only issue for you is that you had a second and a third line Center playing on the first line all year and that that’s not good enough to get you over the edge now get you over the edge Elias ly Holmes not getting you over the edge either but it’s probably is it probably your best option at Center through free agency yeah right like you’re not goine no more of an upgrade anyway yeah and I don’t know what you would I don’t know what you would trade I mean you do have to address like what are you doing with allmark because he needs to be traded no doubt no doubt and I don’t fault them for not trading him at the deadline either I know you and I disagree on that I the reason I first of all he didn’t approve of it so like you couldn’t do it but secondly again like you didn’t know Jeremy Swan was going to go on the run that he did no he was he was had a rough second half people forget that about Jake de Brusque and I just was looking through Twitter and Joe Hagerty tweeted Jake debrusk reveals to the media that he played with a broken left hand during the last few months of the regular season and he got healthy just before the playoffs bring him back bring him back I’m with you I have no problem sorry they are they are uprooting the seats I apologize everybody um yeah I bring him back and my God like freaking they’re taking the whole place down um but yeah I assume you it only re it only enforce that you want to bring him back I I would brought I mean I certainly would have brought him back before that I I just think playing in Boston is a is it’s a difficult Mark not it’s not a Toronto level Market but it’s a passionate fan base that has an expectation of all of their teams you’ve got to you’ve got to be prepared for that Jake debrus has dealt with some scrutiny from media from fans I think he he showed that with do you like his consistency or not he’s consistent um and understanding exactly what you’re going to get in night in night out and the idea that you can put him on the power play sorry you can put him on the power play you can use him on the PK you can use him up and down that lineup I think that is that’s valuable that’s very valuable I I think one good thing you did get out of this postseason is you know that swayan is your guy going forward and de Brusque looks like someone you want to keep um I want to talk more about this but first we have Jim Montgomery you be to be in control of the game in the second period you had multiple grade A’s when they didn’t go did you sense frustration at all um I didn’t sense frustration um but the lack of our ability to score in the playoffs in general um you know you can’t win every game 2-1 you you know Jimmy just coach to to further expand on that um what did you think like what’s the main reason you guys couldn’t execute and get those goals when you needed them um well we had the opportunities right I think we had five odd man rushes after two periods tonight so and then game four we had several we had three breakaways I mean that’s you know comes down to you know their goalie was good and we didn’t beat them I mean at times you know um played too much in our in our end in the uh second and third period tonight yeah I mean he’s you know I I just I’ll let him out TR it I I I I don’t you know he’s right you didn’t capitalize on chances you didn’t that we we covered it like I I just they didn’t execute on chances comes down to that and so here’s the thing what he’s saying there is we’re not quite good enough to capitalize on those chances because he’s multiple breakaways multiple odd man rushes which begs the question then why not create second chance to Opportunities why not why not find yourself like none they had like no Second Chance opportunities why not find yourself Around the Net more why not during this playoffs when you’re struggling to score why wasn’t it all right and and I don’t get it watch anytime they went low to high and this is a at no point so on Zone entries the big thing is and this is where I need a bit of an education too on Zone entries it’s gain middle ice when pucks went low to high defenseman never moved to Middle ice it never got off the wall immediately went D to D but no movement it didn’t create a hinge there was no F3 that came up they just planted their feet and then threw it right back behind the went back behind the net shoot Diego low to high low to high sorry is this annoying at one hour no I don’t care we’re fine all right low win the puck below the goal line Diego and then the puck goes to the point right away and so usually teach your defenseman gain middle ice so that I can go either way I can be a threat to pass but I can also be a threat to shoot and they just planted their feet moved it over here and then threw it behind the net I don’t like I you didn’t so you know you’re not skilled enough that’s what he saying right there and you didn’t make the game hard enough for Florida and you didn’t try to create opportunities Around the Net you still stuck and Don Sweeney came out and said we are a team that believes in the quality shot well it didn’t work in this period no it didn’t it didn’t series work in playoffs it it didn’t it didn’t at all um you know it’s interesting this was something you mentioned before and we went to um we went to game time but like in terms of trade chips if you want to get crazy like I know you mentioned like getting a number one Center like you could probably if you know depending on the number one Center that comes up is ptra available like do you package around ptra and again I don’t think they I don’t think they do because I think they really like you a number one Center not to not just him you can’t do like a one for one but to package like if you you know if it was a you know ptra plus future picks like then I then maybe I think you maybe you could I do the only person that’s getting you a number one C or only people are makoy and past they’re the only one that will get you a sometimes the market can stink sometimes the market can stink and if if again if there’s a player and I don’t I don’t have a name but if there’s someone who see some ptra played like 10 games ptra has ceiling and again I’m not I don’t want to trade ptra I’m not saying two trade potra I’m just saying in terms of if you if if a number one Center pops up and you got to trade for him and I don’t and I don’t think that I don’t think a package around ptra beats out other teams but if there’s like a Taylor Hall type scenario where he only wants to go to the Bruins or a player has a no movement clause and the Bruins are on their trade list or whatever what if we say please would that help with a number one Center would okay say please you get a number one sent that’s how it works only the bo you’re have a first round pick this year either you don’t have a first or second years or a third they don’t they won’t pick who’s gonna trade away and can we ptra is gonna be a nice player he’s gonna be a second or third line Center he’s not going to be a number one so why would a team say to you we don’t know that yet we don’t know that yet if he was technically yeah well that’s great going to be a good player do you think that they would have sent him to World Juniors if they felt potential number one Center Vibes out of Matt ptra he’s not he wasn’t going to be number one this year but not on the road I’m not saying he’s officially gonna be that but if you’re a team that’s that is desperate in a in a crunch I don’t know I think you could headline a package I I do I’m not saying it’s going to happen I don’t I don’t think they trade him but a deal with ptra and future first or something like I don’t know just there’s nothing else outside there’s nothing else here’s how you would get a of what kind of Center we talking Elite we talking second line that could play your first because that you’re trading for yeah just give me a name how if we’re playing this game give me a name a name a name that’s a tough one like a a i I would say someone like a true Elite number one Center is not getting dealt no so it be it would be a somewhat people like Pierre Luke Dubois but I’m not I’m not I I wouldn’t do that I wouldn’t do that I know barzal is a popular one but it’s I’m I’m thinking more of someone who’s an elite second line Center who can jump up and be fine as a first line Center and could be your first line Center going forward with good Wings around him I don’t have a name at this moment I just don’t he sure one that people say but to make that a possibility you’re probably you’re probably packaging ptra and lorai in order to get make that a reality could be and I wouldn’t I would again I wouldn’t do that I wouldn’t do that L is that’s why I said that’s why I said to you right like people like Pierre Luke du I think La probably regrets their eight and eight right oh yeah at least now if you can get them to keep his half what whatever pick a percentage it’s just for this keep half his salary I’d try it I’d try it and can you get like pack like that is that a thing you can get with allmark olark for pier Luke dubar and half of his salary can I give you a dumb answer yeah you can I I I worry about what he would do to the run I do yeah they don’t there’s no more berson there’s no more Chara this is a a new core Martian that has you know a couple years left I I I don’t know I know it’s it’s a it’s a dumb answer but I do wonder what he would do I do wonder what to do to the locker room I do because he has not worked anywhere he just hasn’t and I know he was a change man going in this year and the production wasn’t there I don’t know the ins and outs of LA but that’s a that’s a big risk and I know it’s it would only be like four million but even then I’d rather have a pick I’d rather have a pick I would and if I’m wrong in the in the future then I’m wrong but I don’t want him if if there if there’s already questions about whether this core can get over the top of makoy and poock and that crew adding him I don’t think is gonna be I don’t I don’t think adding him is GNA do it that’s where I come from okay yeah that’s where I come at yeah that’s fine yeah I could be WR I get it I get I get the idea you you take you know a guy who hasn’t worked anywhere and hope he works here which is fine I you know but I just rather him not in that dressing room okay and if it work if he if he worked out he worked out but I I don’t know I I this is gonna be the whole off season these but they have the money that’s the good thing they have the money they do have the money to try to to to do some stuff to get creative the question is how cre did they get someone asked earlier about dant Heinen whether or not they keep him I keep him I keep D I actually thought D Heen was good tonight he almost killed Sam Bennett it’s crazy but I like Danon Heen I do he’s gonna get more than league minimum but you know if it’s around like 900 to a million or something I’m cool I mean but look at the way you that you just constructed the lines right you didn’t have you didn’t have them in your top nine and really for teams to be successful your your fourth line has to be minimum guys which means beat your Brazil someone else right so I just don’t think that there’s a spot for him to fit next year and he’s gonna want and probably will get you one and a half $2 million a year right so um and you do need to get faster and so I just don’t I don’t see a fit for him here and Boston next year great he did a great job admirable played above right like did everything that the Boston team this year this year did which is play Above their head he played above and now he’ll go get his money and I just I don’t think he’ll I don’t think there’ll be a spot for him I wonder what his Market’s gonna be does someone give him like a three-year no $2 million deal per like no no I I don’t think so no you’re probably looking for a team that wants to get better on the fourth line uh not a not necessarily a cup contending team but a playoff caliber team that’s looking to solidify that and I can’t give you uh you know who that might be off the top of my head but that’s where he’ll he’ll get probably a million and a half next year somewhere yeah I don’t I mean if you can get him on the cheap again but I I he not taking cheap again he had a good year no I just like he’s you know very close to Montgomery because they played at you know coached him at Denver and this has been really the only place in the NHL he has consistently work like consistently stayed at the NHL level but I you know he’s a nice piece I still wouldn’t mind having him he is kind of a Swiss army knife yep up front yeah but again your fourth line guys and your extra Force have got to be league minimum guys they have to be you the days of play paying the Mero line each a million and a half dollars like what the Islanders do it’s just not Fe anymore well if they’re as good as Casey zekus like sign me up Cal Clutterbuck but you don’t you don’t have those guys so Beer’s got a Beer’s got to figure out his role brazo probably move him back to the fourth line and then now all right now my third and fourth lines can fight for some minutes create some competition within that within that room a bit I just lost it on my oh this is interesting like if they went in next year with a fourth line of Loco beer and brazo I’m cool with that I’m cool with that those league minimum guys entry level type stuff I’m cool with that um an interesting oh continue no and this was gonna be where you know better than me is there anyone in Providence that slots in that space that can make you fast faster but play in a third fourth line role merula’s an interesting one okay what his development is over the next few months I just saw metion someone mentioned lysel that’s another interesting one like do you slot because lysel is not a fourth line guy do you slot him in on the third line to try him out like I haven’t heard great things from down there but at some point you’re gonna have to give this kid a chance at the NHL level you’re going to have to so I got I I don’t know when that’s going to be kunar is another one obviously Anthony Rashard came up late the season he was good so he’s goingon to be battling for minutes but I I agree with you letting that fourth line be younger guys um trying to earn minutes you know I think loo and beer did that admirably this year I think brazo certainly did I think brazo is someone you keep I mean you have to but you know in terms of like lysel gonna a chance why didn’t they give him a chance there I know he dealt with injuries I don’t you know I don’t know the exact reason but I you know he struggled at times this year and that was I think the biggest thing struggled and had injuries and I mean his trade values gone down so much that’s the other thing is that like they you really have nothing to lose bringing them up for 10 games on the third line to see what you get and I think they should do that like I I think that should be a u a thing next year but again like um someone mentioned it before like don’t sign any more third liners I agree like your thing this offseason should be top six like I want H I want Heinen back because Heinen is Valu you know serves a good role but if they don’t bring him back I’m not gonna be crushed by it to me the big thing is can you sign guys Andor trade for guys who are going to help you in your top six that’s that’s the biggest thing to me like that that’s gotta that’s got to be priority number one number one Center top six Wing help that’s the biggest and that’s the thing right now so even if you do it the way we’ve done it and pick your player that plays on that left wing like beat your brezo and you want Loco yeah and I’d be fine and I’d be fine with boquist like Fast kind of that similar uh um Heinen he can kill penalties he can produce at times and so now you have Frederick watch war and geeky like your third and fourth line that’s pretty good now your second now now you would go second you had de Brusque marshand and Cole and zaka posar you need a first line Center yeah you do that team’s not bad that team’s not winning it’s not bad that’s why they don’t they don’t need to blow it up they don’t and like okay even like this right you know they go into next season with let’s just say they find a way to get either an elas Lindholm as their number one Center or they find someone else as a number one Center I don’t have a name my brain is kind of fried they just lost game six we’ll get into that deeper in the off se but just a number one center right and let’s say they even maybe they you know they obviously they resigned de Brusque and then I don’t know maybe you do add like a tofol for the third for for the third line or something like that right let’s just say you do that if they got this and I know again last year was the best team and uh they hope I’m not cutting out um best team ever and couldn’t get past the first round but they get all the way to game six of the second round with this roster and then you make it better next year like I know that sounds dumb but like yeah and so think there is it’s not they’re not out of the cup contention they’re not out of cup contention with that roster favorites no but they’re so good so I think the issue is zaka is better fit for playing left wing with posar he is a good playmaker he can make plays for Posh the play that he made to Brazil he can do that he’s not suited to play center I know he had one I don’t remember what series was was it it was in I think it was in this one where he had he was like 12 and six in the dot he doesn’t have those many many nights so if you slot him in to left WI say now coil at number two Center this is what I would say if Coy’s at a number three Center your team is making a push for the Stanley Cup pretty close to it oh 100% yes right now at the second he can get you into an Eastern Conference Finals I think now right like what you’re looking for is the way that we’ve constructed it we Evan marowski and Carl corini assistant general managers from Bingham Massachusetts be kick team yeah you’re you’re a little bit better than you were this year but you just got to find that first I know but you just gota like that like first line centers grow on trees but you’ve got to find someone that’s capable of playing at a high level I don’t think they got to be elite they’ve just got to be able to produce goodness got to be able to produce 65 70 plus points everyone’s mentioning niik heser as someone um I have to look at his current contract situation he did have 67 points this year he had 80 the year before obviously in New Jersey everyone thinks it would beark for heer because New Jersey needs a goalie in the worst way and I don’t know maybe you could pull that off and if you could then like great great like for it I mean I think the Devils would probably be for it too because you get a goalie out of it who’s you know a year off winning of BNA so you know if you want to do that by all means like I’m not against that it’s just you know is New Jersey going to make that trade and it’s always those deals that are popular with the people that everybody wants but that don’t happen so he’s got three years left on a deal that pays him seven and a quarter million dollar are you doing that seven and a quarter yep per yeah yeah I am and it’ll be more than omark obviously yeah think it wouldn’t just be like go Mark straight up yeah last three years 60 80 67 points now he’s a second option there now with the emergence of Jack Hughes but yeah I mean I guess I’d take it put him with pass give it a shot but I mean again I I think the biggest thing is you’re not like you’re not going to get the the the number one Center the number two Center in the league like you’re not going to get a top five Center or top 10 Center even like I think you do have to be okay with if it is Lind Holm just making it work or or or niiko heser just making it work is he is niiko heser New Jersey’s Captain I want to say he is I believe so I think he is like are they gonna this are they gonna trade their Captain that’s that’s another big thing um so I don’t yeah Kelvin Hobbs just mentioned that like are you going to trade your captain I don’t I don’t know so again I that’s the tough part with these trades is we don’t know quite yet like who the guys are that are going to be available yeah so yeah I mean I think the big thing is number one Center potentially a top six Wing you know what else I wouldn’t mind I was telling Ty Anderson this the other day I wouldn’t mind a veteran left shot defenseman to potentially pair with makoy cuz like and and and and low should be mcavoy’s guy next year it should be you know lowai McAvoy lyom Carlo for sure um and then you have Peak on the right side on that third pairing but ideally wspoon is your seventh defenseman wspoon is probably I don’t know if wspoon is going to be your third pair but if you have the money you know we’ll see what lowai does over the course of the regular season and he could evolve into that but like I don’t know I was looking through like defense like a Brendan Dylan a tough Grizz kind of you know two-way left shot defenseman who’s been through a lot of runs and stuff like to put with makoy I don’t know I wouldn’t be against it but we’ll see I mean this is immediate reaction so like I that could change if you can figure and this is what I and I think I don’t remember what game it is um their breakout strategy their Zone exits it wasn’t what they had done all year and this is my PO so this is going to be my point about ly Holm ly Holm and mvoy consistently make or through the regular season consistently made the slip play to the middle of the rank and were able to effectively move out of the zone now you know without going in depth on the four checks of teams they faced why the strategy was just to chip it the glass and you even looked at tonight they chipped it up the glass and turn it over this is a long-winded way of saying your defense on paper is not in bad spot like McAvoy and and lowai lyol and Carlo you have Peak and who’s your sixth that’s the thing is it is it w spoon because forer’s a UFA shaton Kirk’s a UFA I would assume both those guys are gone yeah grizz’s gone sorry everybody but that’s what’s going to happen yeah I would assume so gk’s probably gone so that’s where like you could get a better I saw someone say Dylan stinks I don’t know Dylan well enough to tell you if he’s amazing or not but that’s the kind of guy that you want I would think veteran kind of left shot player like w someone said wild this’s a good B bottom pairing backup defenseman I agree I agree we have some sound actually of Paul Maurice and I want to take it to uh I want to take it to Paul Maurice is it gonna let’s see it’s not adding sorry guys we’ll see if Amit adds it if EMT adds it it’ll work yes Jacob Middleton would be perfect with makoy oh my God Jacob Middleton would be awesome on this Bruins team that’s like the kind of guy I think you want in the playoffs um yes what is it what is it Carl you know what they should do what they should trade for San to San Jose for Henry thrun let’s go give me Henry thrun all day long yes I could get behind that yeah do you want to explain why do you want to explain the reason why ah Henry Henry thron uh played at St Marks I was I was fortunate to have coached him and he played he was a four-year player at Harvard and then played whatever this year 64 games for San Jose so very proud of him and would love to have him back in Boston and to include Sean Farrell yes I I think any St Mark’s gonna be an HL yeah Boston Bruin for sure I’m for it I’m for it I’m in favor of it get all the prep guys on one team just have the be like the New England prep team yep keep grizzli Belmont Hill got to get Mark mcin Michael Callahan up exactly exactly um I don’t know if this sound is gonna load and I I don’t want to keep pushing it um do you have any other thoughts that we haven’t touched on from this game well I mean you did take for this offseason that you want to get off your chest oh yeah I want to get off your chest can they can they work on the too many men on the ice over the summer no they cannot that’s impossible they they almost had another tonight by the way they almost had another too many men that did not get called I just now I know coaching at a at prep hockey I did I 100% did not see seven too many men on the ice this year did not hard to do they do Diego they do need a change game they need to play the change game more often for the Boston Bruins I agree um we did break a record by the way tonight seven hey it’s you know how we talk about remembering the shifts we always remember the too many men’s this was the playoff the postseason run of the Too Many Men there’s nothing wrong with that it was perfect was great so great no I think the going into the off season you need to address your number one Center oh no take number one thing is what’s your identity right like what kind of team do you want to be and then that will make thec decision of what type of Team you want to be right you can’t if you just go out signing players because they have a pedigree and and they don’t fit your system that’s not going to work really and if you go back and you truly look at their game plan for last year that’s what kind of it it looks like when you see it come to fruition you went out and signed a bunch of slower bottom six type players and then ask them to be then you ask them to play a possession game that they weren’t capable of doing and now overachieved all year and so kudos to the players kudos to um Jim mtgy and that coaching staff they got that team to play Above their head um but when it came time to to to play that style of game and the playoff when it got tied out was really hard for them and so what’s your ID you need a number one Center and you got to trade allmark those are kind of the three things heading into the offseason that I’m concerned about and if you can get get a second round pick here somehow some way a first round pick even you’ve got nothing right you you’re talking the cupboard yeah you’re talking about you’re talking about a a partner for Andrew Peak and there there should be guys lining up to to play that position and you don’t have that in Providence there’s no one that you can think of that would step up and play in that spot I’d have to get dver on for that that’s like diver’s wheelhouse we’ll ask him tomorrow at the mass hockey Festival well you just you haven’t seen did you see anyone get called up to play in that spot no W spoon was the one Wilders spoon was the one L and lowai lowai was the other unless I’m forgetting someone but I don’t think I am I think it was those two there’s no one after like your next guys up are guys that have been around the American League for a while Mitchell uh Riley Walsh regula Rula I don’t know Michael Callahan who great rockberry Latin Fox yes great player rockberry Latin kid I forgot about that Latin great player I great to me I think you’re spot on with the identity part you got to figure out you going to be shot volume you’re going to be high danger if you’re going to be high danger you have to be you have to talent and to me like I just think you saw it in this series you know obviously could they have won yes they could have finished chances and all that stuff but the talent wasn’t up to it and that gets fixed with a number one Center and I also think a top six Wing I would love to see them do it I would love to see them do it I you know so how do you manufacture your one true asset that you would be willing to get rid of which is all Mark how can you how can you manufacture a first or really good second line Center out of him for a first second line Center I think it’s probably a package deal I would assume I’m telling I would assume y okay but you’re you’re gonna say du I’m just say I’m willing to tr I’m willing to try it for for a guy that’s for for a guy that’s been on his fourth team now or whatever that would be at some point it’s got to it’s right like that we talked about self-awareness that self-awareness at the end of the day all right it’s me right like now maybe that never comes with him like oh it’s everyone else but at some point you got to look Inward and and so the talents there I don’t think anyone denies the talent right and so at some point as you grow and mature he’s a kid that played in the league at the age of 18 fifth overall pick with columb ver a sixth overall pick it’s easy I get what I want now you’re said right like there are conversations about being bought out six months after you one year yeah six months after you got an eight for eight so there got to be people in his life talking to him saying hey like what do you want to make yourself if the 64 million’s enough and you know you’re guaranteed that then that’s something the Bruins going to look but I think they should look into it because I’m going to assume that la is a place that he would go to I would assume that New Jersey is probably a place that he’d go to as well something but um you need I feel this Market would eat him Alive’s I feel like this Mark I think this Market would eat him alive and I I don’t know the guy personally obviously and I don’t know everything I don’t know everything about him but like I I just I don’t know I again it’s not a bad idea like I’m not like oh that’s so stupid it’s fine I just I don’t know I me the trade G Walker I would love to be on this post game after uh uh P duah just ghosts it up and doesn’t play he doesn’t even he plays like what was the shift where uh torella just goes after him he just kind of skates oh I love it or like a a debrus DuBois and then insert someone else line like imagine that like that line goes like minus 4 One game just like the sky is falling that’d be that’d be great for Content I’ll admit it be f um I you’re trading omark I I I think I want to pick unless again unless there is a good package to be had for a number one Center if someone’s willing to give you a number one Center for Lena Sark to get a number one goalie then sure but I think the more realistic thing is get a first round pick I think and I think that that is the move pick in the first round that’d be cool get get a get a you know top prospect and whatever you know get a center get a defenseman I don’t care but I go with that for that and then to me like to improve on the wing if they do do more than de Brusque if they did say hey we’re going to go sign it to Foley or they want to shoot big and go for Stam Coast which I would assume would be around like four times 28 or or whatever that’s going to be free agency Wing is free agency Center is your best option whether that’s a trade or free agency I don’t know what trade would come up for this I know we discussed it earlier in the show but yeah to me you got to improve up front got to be better offensively got to improve offensively and um yeah I think they don’t need to they don’t need to blow it up and remember this was a team in transition this year year one without bur run and crei they get to game six in the second round I’m not you know not saying it’s amazing but they beat expectations they beat beginning of the year expectations yeah and I think that’s the thing like they uh overachieved during the regular season um played hard against Florida like oh gave themselves an opportunity to win the series but the better team won and it’d be interesting to see how Florida does in the next series against uh New York so that’ll be I think that’ll be good good physical series and it’ll be fun to watch well this is it our last post game show all right damn shame but we’ll have to get you on whether it’s in the off season I know we’re both so we are both so busy during the year but yeah you can catch you can catch me in between classes sometimes I watch
