Brad Marchand On Game 6 Performance vs. Florida Panthers

Brad Marchand On Game 6 Performance vs. Florida Panthers

obviously disappointing um you know we obviously would have liked and expected a different result um you know it’s start losing in that fashion last minute you know it just shows how much of a game of inches it is and um you know they’re they’re a great team you can’t discredit them at all um you know we battled hard but we still thought we had more and we expected better Brad how proud proud of you of this group the way they battled yeah um I I really you know can’t even put into words how how proud I am uh of this group I mean from from where we started um you know the expectations start the season uh you know everybody rode us off um said we wouldn’t even be a playoff team and when we one of the best teams uh in the league you know we had a lot of new guys a lot of new roles uh and and guys came in and you know we built something special um started in the room and carried on to the ice and you know we had some hiccups along the way but um from where we started and where we finished uh you know I couldn’t be more proud of the guys and you know just seeing different guys flourish in different roles and you know the stories that kind of came out of the Season you know mace was one of our best defenseman by the end year and you know Brad’s being on a two-way on a one-way deal in the American League and you know pretty much let toy himself a spot for next year so uh I mean I could go on and on but um you know I couldn’t be more proud of every guy in this room and not just to who they are as as players but you know even better people and um that’s what makes it so fun coming to the rink every day is who we get to be with um you know who we get to play with and grow with and um so it was a special here you proud the last half hour um lot of disappointment obviously and quiet um you know but just kind of trying to take in what happened you know we like I said we expected better and um it’s tough when the season ends you know the end of the day obviously only one team um get win the last game of the year but you know we still thought that we had more in us and uh we had a higher ceiling so it’s been disappointing BR at this point in your career each season that ends is it harder and harder to to to to take it knowing when when you don’t finish the way you wanted to yeah it is I mean I think you really appreciate every opportunity um you know the longer you play the more you realize how hard it is to win and just the the differences and in teams that win and teams that don’t and um you know just how perfect everything has to line up and you know you hope every year that that you know it goes your way for your team but um you know not just winning at all but even being part of a team like this you appreciate it cuz it doesn’t happen every year and you never know know when uh the next opportunity is going to be if you ever get one again so definitely don’t take it for granted obvious question have you feel tonight I F they right um you know I I I definitely pushed it getting back um when SE was up front about how I felt um but you know it’s hard to to sit out uh and make this decision to set out so the only reason I got pulled out of that game and the only reason I was in protocol was because doctors forced me uh into it and um so you know I got through it can you put into words just why what it meant why it was so important for you to play tonight why you wanted to be out there um you know you work your entire life to be in a position to play for a cup and um you know I I spoke on it the other day a little bit but I mean to to win and to go all the way you need to be willing to sacrifice things and um you know I don’t mind playing hurt I don’t care what it is and you know but to be out there with the guys and and and to be an elimination game um you know you want to be there with the guys you want to go through it together you know we’ve built something all year and and you know you want to be part of it whether you win or you lose you want to be in there in in the fight with the guys and um experience every moment cuz like I said you never know when you’re going to get it again and you know I learned that from the guys in the past that play through everything and um you know if you have the ability to play you want to play and and and give yourself a chance to to get you know another day we’re fighting for one day here and that’s what it is and just wanted to be part of it you talked about being proud of guys you talked about some of the younger guys are you proud of you are you proud of how you carried yourself and what you were for this team this year yeah I think at times um I think I learned a ton throughout the year uh you know I think I’ve kind of found my way towards the end of the season there’s definitely some some times throughout the year that um I I wish I could kind of get back and kind of lost my emotions a bit and I was letting that show on the ice and um on the bench and and that’s you know stuff I got to get away from um but I you know I like the growth I still think there’s room to grow there always is but um I’m kind kind of happy with the you know where I got to but still think I can be better

  1. bad defense and no offense!! better upgrade next season boston!!! or you ll end up the same as the last 2 seasons!!

  2. Great season by the Bruins. Very proud of the team and very happy with Marchy wearing the C. Chin up boys, extend Swayman, finish the retool and let's fight again next season! Go Bs

  3. Marchand wept. And the rest of the league smiled. I'm in Pittsburgh, and Sam Bennett is now my favorite non-Penguins player. See ya on the golf course, Rat. Bye Bye Broons.
