Reviewing Canucks vs Oilers Game Six

The Canucks showed very little desire to end the series tonight, so we are going to a game seven.

  1. The hockey gods do not take kindly to ā€œwe want the cupā€ this early

Remember the Bruins of last year

    Canucks in 7

  2. The Oilers didn't look like they played even close to as good as they could and they still made Vancouver look brutal. Not a good sign for game 7.

  3. None of the teams can win 2 straigh.
Thats it, the order for the nucks is as follow: W-L-W-L-W-L- ?ā€¦

    Its time for a W!

  4. The entire Canucks franchise is a legacy of failure. I'm 100% sure they'll lose Game 7 too. Very difficult team to keep rooting for…

  5. Terrible game by Vancouver. Especially crappy was Myers. Miller and Hronek were not nearly up to snuff. Everyone else were practically invisible.

  6. Oilers fans lets not get too cocky either no team has won 2 in a row this series its going to take everything we got to get through silovs next game. We won a game not the series. Were finally at the eclipse of this series go hard or go home for both teams. Both backs against the wall. Who will show up!?

  7. Oilers fans lets not get too cocky either no team has won 2 in a row this series its going to take everything we got to get through silovs next game. We won a game not the series. 8. Silovs shouldā€™ve been replaced after the third goal. Try something else to shake up the team. His timing was off as well.

  9. The Oilers and Skinner also play like Jekyll and Hyde to the point where I can see either team winning next game.

I do think Tochett will make the required adjustments to ensure what happened tonight won't happen again. So as an Oilers fan, I hope they play their best game of the past 3 years in Game 7.

  10. Bringing up Dallas & Edmonton, my dad told me that the Dallas vs Edmonton series in 97 was his favorite non Red Wings series. He said Dallas had a 3-1 series lead and was leading game 5 by a 3-0 score late game. Oilers score with 3 mins left. He said, "well, at least they won't get shut out now." Short time later the Oilers score again. He told me he turned up the radio because it was getting good. Then he said the Oilers tied it with a little over a minute left to play and they capped it off by winning it in triple overtime. He said they went on to come back and win the series. I wish I was older and there with him to listen to that game (as well as the Wings games that year) but when this series happened, it was before my first birthday. Sounded like a hell of a series.

  11. Avsfan cheering for Vancouver definitely over Edmonton. Take them out in game 7 at home boys! Rooting for you guys. Best of luck.

  12. This game was a massive relief, as a frustrated Oilers fan, the 1st game of the whole series that wasnt frustrating at all

  13. Judging by the overall performance during 6 games, it's a little miracle that the score is 3:3.
But Canucks can be very clutch, can not count them out.

  14. I don't really watch NHL very much but I will be cheering for Vancouver just bc it will make this man happy. What's crazy is that I root against Toronto to see Steve Dangle cry yet root for Vancouver to see Hockey Guy happy..šŸ˜Š

  15. I knew during the first period the Canucks will struggle after not having a single shot on net for 2 ppā€™s in a row.

  16. This was one of those games where if the Canucks felt they were to send the world a message to announce their legitimacy, this was a must win game(they lose one, and now you're heading home to stave off elimination AFTER giving them the momentum). Years pass, I'd see fans say they want to see the Canucks bring game 7 home to win it at home for the crowd, but this attitude is dangerous as it's assuming you've got so much slack to give that you can dictate when and how you win, and you're again handing away the initiative/momentum).

Sure, maybe they have the mentality to write off a loss and come back harder for the last game, but why bother extending one if you didn't need to? Now the narrative if they drop the next game is that they were lucky instead of a team that was able to close out a tight series.

This was a must win and they didn't bring it(they needed to at least show enough push back to make it close), and now it's OT and you handed the other guy the proverbial dagger.

  17. Wow ! Luv it , how Vancouver fans change minds in playoffs. Thinking how team SUDDENLY sucks. That reverse psychology plays a part. šŸ˜‚.
That said, Vancouver will win this series! Keep up the Debbie downer. They are the better team. ..ooo then again there is the Mc David factor, playoff hockey how it spins our minds. Luv it. Good luck hockey guy

  18. The Canucks players have to realize, this roster is going to change dramatically, so give it the old 1980 miracle. They got a shot.

  19. Sorry everyone I'm been a Canucks fan for 15 years and I think Canucks gonna lose game 7 sorry Canucks' fan we lost it šŸ˜²šŸ˜²šŸ˜’šŸ˜’šŸ˜’

  20. Not much to review. A total thrashing and in doing so, Dallas gets some extra rest before facing their next challenge.

Series is all tied up at 3 each. Series will be decided in Vancouver on Monday. Tonight the Oilers came to WIN not just PLAY. They had 10 more hits, nearly double the shots, both PP's went scoreless so both PK's at 100% tonight and there were a lot of minutes doled out (especially at the end of the 3rd with 4 misconducts given out). Oilers were clear winners tonight in a must win elimination game. Hopefully they can do it again Monday. They've statistically been the better team this series now just finish the series and move on. That Holloway goal was a thing of beauty, it was like he was channelling Connor McDavid for the lateral shift and speed. Skinner was great in net not facing a lot but stopping all but the first when Nurse, Desharnais etc. decide to puck watch rather than play D. First Bouch Bomb at the end of the 1st called off for interference (though Blueger pushed McDavid into Silovs). I tactfully say no comment to the officiating. Take care all.

  22. Interesting Vancouver seemed to play like they didn't need it. Well, the truth is they didn't, not like Edmonton did. I think Vancouver will be a different team in game 7, it is strange how inconsistent Vancouver can be. 15 shots against the mighty defense of the Edmonton Oilers, wow thats really mailing it in. But then again, the Rangers did just about the same thing after the 2nd period of game 5.. Its going to be a great game, good luck to Vancouver.. it will be fun watching Shannon be conflicted if Vancouver wins the next game and goes against Dallas, though I think the allegiance remains with Vancouver.

  23. Dedicated to the VANCOUVER CANUCKS …………Katy Perry – Never Really Over/Not The End Of The World/Roar Medley (Live at T Mall Double 11 Gala).

  24. look at the bright side the PCHL Toronto womens team even got to pick their opponent and still lost in the first round…Toronto curse….men and women both go in the 1st round

  25. i was thinking if the Oilers canā€™t do 5-2 this game itā€™s over for them, even if they win. They finally proved they know how to step up their game. Thatā€™ll give them the chance vs. Dallas.
