  1. Setting a reminder for the inevitable r/hockey thread in 2029 speculating that Rod will leave to coach Toronto

Fantastic news! My day is already looking brighter.

Holy shit, I thought it would be two or three years. That’s remarkable stability in an NHL coaching landscape full of turnover.

  4. Well, that’s interesting – previous 2 contracts were both 3 year.

Wow it’s almost as if everything that Rod and sources closes to the team have been saying was true the whole time.

My only hope here is that we do some reevaluation at the assistant level. Whoever is in charge of special teams needs to take a serious look in the mirror for that playoff performance. Got better right at the end, but only after it had already fucked us.

That long of a term tells me we are embracing a dip in performance the next 2-3 years and the FO wants to make sure Rod is locked up when our next window opens

    Announce Jeff Daniel’s’ firing, cowards

  9. After we lost I was mad at Rod, but then I started thinking of this team without him and it just wouldn’t be the same. Glad he’s staying. If we had an elite goalie we’d be able to win a cup. Funny enough Freddy played well enough to win last year. This year we addressed the goal scoring and he reverted back to the mean. Rod will learn his lesson and pk will be our starter next year. But if pk turns out to not be good enough in the playoffs, it won’t matter who our coach is or how many great wingers we trade for… imagine our team with Igor? Imagine our team with a postseason pp? We’re so close, hopefully we’re still elite next year with all this turnover
