[Thomas Drance] “It adds fuel to the fire to get this done for him. No one is cheering for us more tonight than (Brock),” says Dakota Joshua on Brock Boeser. “We’ll be fighting for him.”

brock is a big miss but it’s one game and our group has the mentality to step it up in his absence rather than lose confidence. have faith

Here’s hoping that fire takes their game up an extra notch.
But it’s not heart alone that wins games. Systems and focus on making the right plays are just as important- and in an emotional game it’s easy to start playing too fast and loose with those.
Just gotta hope that they an manage that intensity and keep on an even keel

Tough losing our best forward this playoffs. Honestly, it’s not losing tonight that will get me down, it’s HOW we lose tonight. An effort like last game is unacceptable, but going balls to the wall and simply getting outclassed by Edmonton’s superstars, I can live with

Just fell to my knees at Save-on Foods.
This is really tough especially what a season Boeser had.

Next man up. Team game, use whatever you can for motivation, this is why hockey is the ultimate team game. The team can be bigger and better than just the sum of the parts.

Rally Round The Family! They can do this , it’s one game that will produce heroic moments like Bure on Vernon in 94, Burrows intercepts the puck and scores in 2011. When it’s over I want to see McLean , Gazdic and Hrudey talk about it!! Let’s gooo!

Hoping the boys are focused to execute Tocchet’s game plan and come out hard with an extra step for Brock. Obviously any player going through what Brock is going through sucks, but I expect they’ll be pushing extra hard because it’s him specifically. He’s the longest tenured Canuck, an amazing person/teammate and has given his all for this team all year long after a few very hard years for him. He’s arguably the heart and soul of this team and a perfect example of what it means to be a Canuck. If there’s any teammate you lay everything on the line to win this game for it’s him. Hoping for some big games from guys like Miller who have the ability to single handedly take over games when they’re on. Win or lose it’s been a blast to watch these guys come together and exceed expectations to do something special this season

All they can do is win, and if they don’t, go out like a dying star. Do it for Brock!

Excited to see how the team responds to this!

I witnessed a situation similar to this in 1987 when the Philadelphia Flyers lost their two leading scorers Tim Kerr and Dave Poulin prior to their finals against Gretzky and the Oilers. Other players stepped up and took the Oilers to 7 games. One of those Flyers who stepped up? A young Rick Tocchet. These Canucks have been coached with a Next Man Up attitude, win or lose

Fighting will do nothing. Try scoring for him.
