Only Garland, Silovs, Lindholm and Zadorov tonight.

The thing I’m most proud of is that we got the culture back like Juice said at the end of the game.
We got rid of the stink too as Hughes put it earlier.
I’m convinced this team doesn’t fall off like the 2021 Habs or those Sens teams that look like they have something after a deep run, and then suck immensely after that.
Just the way our players were talking in interviews tells me they now have the right mindset. There’s a realistic pathway for different iterations of this group to be a formidable, perennial playoff team instead of being that team that misses four or five years in a row.
We have something here now with Tocchet, and that’s more important than this miracle run of a season itself.

I’ve definitely seen a lot of instagram stories recently of my friends supporting/going to Canucks game. Most of whom I’ve never seen support the Canucks before. It’s honestly great to see and makes the city fun.
nodarknesswillendure
Yes they did. Biggest win of the season for me.
crap4you
If that is what we are going to get from playoff Petey, it will be a long eight years.

Only 4 teams went further than us. It was a memorable year. Oilers series was a little too similar to the Vegas series in terms of o-time share for comfort though. Team seemed to be coalescing around an identity and then completely abandoned it come games 6 and 7. Handful of playoff no shows and some terrible ill fortune derailed what was an otherwise magical run.
I hope there isn’t too much organizational pressure to build on this. Next couple of years will be tough against the cap. Team is going to need to hit a lot of buy low home runs in free agency and hope against hope some of our more marginal prospects take big strides and become impact players, or we’re due to take a few firm steps back. Essential that Pettersson finds his A game and keeps it consistently because expecting Miller to keep throwing up 100 point years as he soldiers into his mid 30’s is a tall ask.
Lindholm and Joshua will almost certainly price their way out of town. Zadorov feels like a must keep from a culture perspective but will be priced outrageously. Cole will walk, Bluegar is 50/50. Hronek might offer more value on the trade market than on the ice. Myers might come back cheap but is very buyer beware. Lafferty is a journeyman and likely has multiple internal replacement candidates.
Team will come back thinner, but hopefully more seasoned and structured.

They absolutely did out respect back. Carved an identity. This season was success. Hopefully they can build from here.

I will agree with this statement more if/when we string together multiple successful seasons. Making the playoffs this year was great, but we fizzled out in a very bad way. Gotta keep winning year after year to really put respect on this team.

Tocchet is a smart coach and he always knows what to say. This wasn’t our year. With Demko in net, we may have a shot against Dallas, but that is a complete team over there. I am excited about the off-season upgrades.
Powerstance79
I seemed like every Edmonton pass was tape to tape and there was always a guy open, where the Canucks’ passing was really sloppy and they constantly bobbled it or passed it into the skates. Hopefully they work on that for next season.

Bouchard was by far the best dman in the series, Hughes played terrible, looks lost on the pp and has a shit shot.
clintnickerson
Tocchet is a class act. Held them accountable for their shortcomings during the playoffs and now supporting them when they failed. Great coach.

I trust Rutherford and co to see what changes need to be made to take the next step next year.

Frankly, I lost respect for them this series. I’ve never turned playoff games off before they were over. This time, I did. Some of the boys played well, but this was very obviously a poor effort and nowhere near contending.
That wasn’t even a game, nor was game 6. I like Tocchet, but brass tax, that effort didn’t bring respect to anyone.

Rough weekend for Arsenal/Canucks fans which Im sure theres quite a few, including myself.
StarkStorm
For sure. I agree. They put respect into this jersey. Fuck losing and “intentionally” going for picks. It is a losing mentality. Instead let’s keep this thing going.
This season should give Canucks some respect league-wide. It’s the start of our contention IMO. Hughes 24, Petey 25, Hronek 26, Boeser 27, Demko 29 and Miller as the vet at 31.
shadownet97
You’re fucking damn right it did. I love the way this city embraces the team and it’s been way too long since we’ve seen these kinds of festivities and support.
starrynova888
Tocc is not faultless. I still see the same bad habits over and over again in these past two games, esp on the PP. Is he telling them to do this, or are they tuning him out? But one thing is for certain, we need to improve significantly on special teams this offseason.

It felt good wearing my WCE orca Jersey to Costco and getting high fives and nice comments from random people 😀. Even saw staff members wearing the skate Jersey. It was so awesome to have a fun Canucks culture again in the Lower Mainland. The GVRD is more fun when the Canucks are good.
Also awesome for my Chinese wife and her first full season as a Canucks fan. She’s really loving hockey in general now and it’s fun to see our local team do well.
This summer will be very important for the team as we continue to build with the tocchet system.
Go Dallas.
Go…. Ummm… FLA… For Luuuu…

I dont really like this comment. The canucks played like shit majority of the playoffs. Silvos, Miller, garland, and Boeser were pretty much the only guys that showed up every game. Silvos was easily the best player for the canucks in the playoffs and that’s an issue.
