Manson slash on Bedard – Have your say!

Josh Manson slashed Connor Bedard away from the play, and it appeared to be intentionally to the wrist. There was no call on the play, and no action from the NHL’s Department of Player Safety. Should there have been? Have your say!

  1. dont think he meant to hit him above the gloves but it happened, definitely a penalty. offiating has become awful in this league, just brutal…protect the stars!!

  2. Its garbage and intentional. Could you show the intentional high stick on Nylander in the Rangers Leaf game last night?

  3. 8 classless Clarke's.

Also, be interesting to see how many people treat this slash the same way they did Crosby-Methot. People just love to hate on the stars for whatever reason.

  4. My instinct is that it's not a malicious play, but he really catches him far from the stick. I wouldn't have minded a fine or something, but a suspension seems a bit much.

  5. It's one thing to to taht when the other guy has teh puck it's another to do it when he's nowhere near the puck. Manson is a greasy player.

  6. I’ve seen a guy snap his wrist from one of those, even the love taps like that can do some serious damage

  7. He goes less out of his way than Pietrangelo did in the playoffs last year, but the actual slash is pretty similar. That should 100% be a suspension. I’d say 1-2 games by normal DoPS standards, 4-5 for Leafs players, and 6+ by Tough Calls standards. But really, let’s be honest, he got away with it and doesn’t even get a fine.

  8. So what was the point of the Colorado player trying to make a play on Bedard when he never got the puck?

  9. Was intentional imo by Manson to hit where it did. If wrist was broken then manson should be suspended until bedard is ready to return. That being said, was more of a lovetap than a tomahawk chop so CB should be ok. Chi def needs a guy like Matt Rempe in their lineup to a) deter those things or b) send a message to guys like manson with a good ole fashioned square off and ass whoopin.

  10. Yep. Slash two mintues in the box. He didnt need to do that. Bedard didnr see that coming so its a cheap shot. No suspension I'd say.

  11. This is what the NHL wants. Cheap shots in the stars because no consequences. 20 yrs ago he would have gotten a beating and would have second thoughts. Removing fighting makes league chippier and less safe.

  12. Remember when Crosby slashed MEthot and he lost the tip of his finger? Doesn't take much. Totally intent to injure.

  13. Yeah, there's no defense for this. What are you 2 handing a guy on the wrist for well away from the play?

  14. What intent to injure?
Sure, it was absolutely intentional. But if he wanted to injure him, he would've given him more than a tap. He knew where he hit him; just above the glove where there is no padding. 100% intentional, but if he did have the intent to injure, he could've; but he didn't.

Anyone claiming intent to injure needs to get back to their Stop Oil rally and Antifa protests. That's right. Go play in traffic.

  15. It's a dirty play. It also happens numerous times per season. Use to happen numerous times per game. In fact at one time it was taught to do that on penalty kills. This kid has to learn to toughen up or they will never stop testing him. I have no problem with them suspending him and getting these unnecessary fouls out of the game, but keep it consistent and aggressive then. Either way have to hold onto that stick.

  16. I'm always seeing NHL YouTubers talk about rat players as "entertaining" and "fun" and that they "add color to the game".
    Seriously, I don't get it.
There are people claiming to be NHL fans who LIKE this kind of garbage?
This is a cowardly cheap shot that had the potential to take an incredibly talented player OUT of the NHL for weeks…. and yet all the time I see people going on about how much "fun" it is to watch rat players take cheap shots at other teams.
