  1. Yes the Pembroke Lumber Kings are a Jr A hockey team out of the Central Canada Hockey League. In 2007 he led the team to a league championship and then to the National Canadian championship, losing in overtime in the semi-finals to the eventual National Champions Aurora Tigers. He also won the league championship with them for 5 straight years

  2. I hope his new contract includes a goaltender, otherwise his stent will be a repeat of what we saw with the leafs.

  3. Devils have Meier, Hischier, and Bratt who are high end players who are built for the playoffs. Then they have Hamilton who can perform in the playoffs. They need Mercer, Hughes and Nemec to develop into playoff type players and they have much more high end depth that can perform in the playoffs much better than the Leafs. Not sure I agree with the parallel of young soft players

  4. I’m impressed SK wants to jump back in instead of sitting on the couch collecting a paycheck! This will be a very good fit and refreshing for ALL involved.

  5. As a Devils fan, I feel pretty good about this hire. I understand the people pointing to his lack of success in the playoffs, but the Devils have only made the playoffs twice in the last 12 years so for now I'm more concerned with even getting back there and I believe he'll help with that

  6. Those figures presented tell sort of truth : Leafs by statistics ( in the last 3 yrs) were not on top 3, but just behind that. Only one top 3 figure.

That tells that the team, together with coach, was not good enough team. Period.

Berube will improve it, but will that be enough? 3rd round in play offs is the minimum goal.

  7. Compare Dubas’ slimy (on both sides) exit from Toronto last year to Keefe’s graceful exit this year. Night and day. Good for Keefe and good for the Devils. Hope they succeed except against the Leafs

  8. The Devils probably won't win the cup, but they will definitely spank the Leafs the next time they play in Toronto.

  9. I thought only 3 coaches in nhl history won a cup with there 2nd team? 2 guys from like the 40’s and scotty bowmen?

  10. Dude, when you speak without the Maple Leafs jersey, you actually make more sense. I can respect that. I buried my jersey in '73.

  11. Devils fan here. I’m excited. Definitely think Keefe will be a breath of fresh air after the staleness of Lindy Ruff’s system and personality. I don’t know if we’re going to immediately be back to the level we were at in 22-23, but this is a really good hire

  12. Noted Devils pajama wearer Adam will be thrilled that the Devils are winning the cup in the next four years

  13. Sheldon Keefe is a bad coach, and its funny how people here are happy that he is now on new jersey lol

  14. Devils should make the playoffs next year as long as their goaltending and defense holds up.

Keefe is inherenting a similar position he had 4-5 years ago with the Leafs.

  15. I think the main thing is if they actually listen and do what he wants unlike the leafs they will have success

  16. Sheldon should have come to my boys in Columbus. He would only have to be above average, and in 4yrs we would have a statue of him outside.

  17. Toronto media already over-selling a decidedly curious hire–yeah he's probably an improvement over Green and Ruff but …In any event it will be amusing watching NJ score a 1000 goals this year while the Leafs learn to play low scoring hockey.
