This dude is really going to ruin all of AZ hockey. Hes got to be the most disconnected owner in sports, and that says something. Hope a bird shits on his head today

Interesting that Craig’s story has a quote from the AHL president saying Meruelo Jr is the point person for these plans. I wonder if XG has been fired?

Split schedule would be pretty cool. I’ll check out a lot of games at Mullett.

Please no. I want hockey here but not at Tucson’s expense.

The more and more I look at the schedules the more it actually looks doable.

The G-League season does start until mid November and ASU only has one home series in both October and November. Then the G-League regular season is done by April 1st and ASU is doesn’t have a home game after late February (They may have a series in mid March for the post season but that’s still a single weekend for the whole month).

December/January/February seem to be the rough months so that’s when it would make sense to have them playing in Tucson. Stack the Tempe dates at the beginning and end of the season to minimize moving for the players and is more or less a non factor for visiting teams.

I would enjoy this as a fan but as a player, this would suck. If their home base is in Tucson, theyre basically on the road ~70% of the season.
