Petey will be fine. He is his own biggest critic but having the summer to rest and recover will be good for him. We know how well he can play when he’s 100%

Just shows that what a lot of people have been reading as arrogance, cockiness, and distance from Petey is really just him setting a high standard for himself, even on one knee, that he’ll be frustrated by if he doesn’t reach.
The fact many called his competitiveness into question this season is laughable. Quotes and pressers like this show how competitive he really is.

I can understand him exactly. He’s a quiet shy kid from a tiny town in Northern Sweden. This was a LOT of noise.
He slumped after the Benning negotiation too and that’s probably half the reason he left money on the table signing an 8 year contract. He might feel resentful when the suits play hardball.
I think that was a bigger issue than the tendonitis in terms of launching the slump and maybe the injury was a factor in keeping the slump going. Once he loses his groove it’s hard for him to press the reset button. Slumps happen to every player but I think maturity over time will cure his mood problems like it does a lot of players.
Why did they not rest him during the season? Not like we were wild card the whole year anyways?
