There’s word tonight that Don Waddell has permission from the Hurricanes to speak to other teams. His contract with Carolina is expiring. The Hurricanes are believed to have already had conversations about a new GM because they expect his eventual departure. Let’s see where this goes.

Tulsky Time ™️
Appreciate what Dundon has done, but this stuff is so annoying.
Interesting.
I gotta imagine the numerous attempts to poach Tulsky means he’s getting the job.
fuck
I’m imagining Don wants to be a hockey guy. Doing all the arena/centennial nonsense on top of being a GM probably takes its toll. Columbus just cleaned house. Could see him taking a President of Hockey Ops role with a GM under him
I don’t like this
Concerning
Guh
Hate this
Why is it always Dundon’s fault with some of y’all? Maybe Don wants a change? It’s a fucking job for these guys! They sometimes want something different just like you do.
Assuming DW leaves, Tulsky is a big analytics guy and not sure if he would be willing to pull the trigger on a KK buyout since they valued him highly at the draft and also when we acquired him
Worth noting that GMDW was allowed to talk to other teams last time his contract was up. I’m not worried, either he stays which is nice or Tulsky becomes GM which is nice
[Lebrun Adds that he did in fact, interview with CBJ today](https://x.com/pierrevlebrun/status/1793820581801930977?s=46&t=TRrTOPpI_siMAzkSH4AHpw)
Waddell is one of the best GMS in the league, damn
But why
Uncertain how to respond. I will see how this goes.
Ugh. DW ALWAYS stops to chat and thanks us ‘for our support’ as STMs when we run into him at PNC. He is genuinely a quality human being who is deeply invested here. I’d be sick if he left
The Canes and DW have been grooming Tulsky for the job for years. This doesn’t mean DW leaves, but it definitely seems like he’ll either be President and Tulsky GM or he goes someplace like Columbus.
Either way, there’s no need to panic or assume people aren’t getting paid by Tommy D. This year is going to be a shake-up with the team no matter what. They locked down Roddy. There are some big decisions to make about the future direction the Canes want to take because there are a lot of options with their own UFAs and RFAs as well as international players and prospects that will need to be evaluated. It just doesn’t seem fair if Don knows he’s not going to see that fruit ripen that he lets someone else cultivate it here and Tulsky makes the most sense.
