His best years were during the mid 2010s with the Kings who were among the very best in the league.

My favorite player who still played. I'm so happy he scored in his last game even though my pens didn't make the playoffs.
While it was tough to watch Carter win with LA I still always rooted for him. Can't deny his ability to grab all sorts of goals throughout his career. I'd argue he'd eventually get in the hall IF he had 500 goals and 900 points. Maybe like a bee's D outside of the HoF.
Kind of felt that he tanked in Columbus. For that, I wasn't a fan. Lots of rumors but this isn't a rumor channel.
Bummed that the Kings didn't sign him for a one day contract.

I don't know when the preview is uploaded so i comment here!

2003 NHL draft one of the best ever and who does Mike Milbury pick??? Robert Nilsson. Great job, Milbury for his 6 goals!!
Again, that 2012 run by the Kings and especially Quick was unbelievable.
Am I seeing things, or just looking through rose-colored glasses? Carter's numbers with Columbus during that fraction of a season in 2011-12 were not so far off the pace that he set with Philly as to be catastrophic. Disappointing for sure, but objectively, not the end of the world. He was on a 30-goal pace. Anyway, Philly's and CBJ's follies were certainly the Kings' gains. What a wild and memorable season that was, and Carts really found a home in LA. His wife was very active in the Kings' charity and community outreach. Still much love for him out here.
So much consistency over such a long career.
You should do Dino Ciccarelli. Please and thank you.
Jeff Carter is a hated man here in Columbus. A video on the career of satan would have been better.
You know you are getting old when you remember Carter winninf Silver on the 2004 team. Remember his Gold the following year and then his draft and now what 19 years later his retirement video…
Philly still haaving nightmares over this… Richards and Carter š¤£š¤£
But what is his middle name?!
As a pens fan, I think Carter played his role very well his last season here. A 4th line grinder lol. The islanders really were classy giving him a nice sendoff after he played his final game. Hope retirement treats Jeff well š¤
Carts was Dean Lombardiās great acquisition when the Kings were looking for that scoring touch so sorely needed. Jordan Nolan and Dwight King added needed toughness. The 2012 Cup run was amazing, and its memories I cherish more than 2014 because it was the first after forty-five years. I kept muttering to myself that āwe really won the Cup!ā My first Kings game was January 1968, so I saw all those years of futility, and in 2012, the frustration ended. Carts was a big part of the success.
You forgot to mention he stole paychecks from the Columbus Blue Jackets…sorry you got traded there but be a professional… nope he couldn't do that. Zero respect for him.
Fellow pens fans were pretty rough on Jeff Carter the last two seasons. He made a couple questionable plays here and there but he was a good pickup the first couple year. Was always a fan of his even when he was a flyer. Great Career, and he's from my hometown. Enjoy retirement Big Jeff.
Look at all those seasons
Look at all those seasons
Kings fans greatly appreciate Jeff Carter. Usually he was used on the 2nd line as a scoring role player, especially in 2014. But in 2013, when Kopitar was out for a bit, Carter played impressively as the Kings 1C. Often considered a player in the shadows of other players like Mike Richards, he would step up and lead for the Kings at times and the Kings nurtured this. One thing that some of the Kings had issues with was certain players having fitness issues and also we had a lot of young players coming up as well. The org would point to Jeff Carter and his constantly immaculate shape as the guy to emulate.
Hall of Really Good, congrats on a lengthy career.
That 2003 draft, man… Stacked!!
Hall of famer for sure he won two cups
Jeff Farter. He stunk!
End of an era. š¢. I will miss Jeff Carter.
Hall of Very Good. Loved Jeff Carter on the Kings. One of the few players to dethrone Kopitar from leading the team in points. Always put his work in and was a great locker room guy. I hope he enjoys his retirement. We still don't know what he said to Mike Richards after the 2012 Cup. lol
Turns out, watching this video made me just that much more disappointed and furious with the Flyers during my time in high school.
Dude gets traded and ends up reunited with Mike after the Flyers trade Richards, just for them to win the Cup.
MAYBE IF PHILLY JUST STUCK WITH THE PLAN, MAYBE WE'D HAVE ANOTHER CUP OR TWO….AND ONE OR TWO IN MY LIFETIME!
