Waddell was President for 10 years, only GM for 6. Folks are overlooking this: the team doesn't have a President now, too. So, they need a hockey business guy as well as a GM. Not necessarily the same person.
Necas & Lindholm will add the team toughness the Bruins need to beat Florida. Florida will be terrified to play the Bruins in the post season. My prediction, 45+ wins in the regular season and a 1st round exit.

You are wayyyy overvaluing Markstrom and Binnington. Liljegren, Robertson AND a 1st. Lol. Your trade speculation is a joke.
Perron is 35. Hopefully Marner will lift his no move, that would really help the Leafs to explore more options.
Rumour is that Tampa need to clear cap space and Cernak would be the odd man out. Hopefully Bradley can make a deal. Add Montour & Roy as UFA.

The most fun team i could see Necas go to is the Islanders, no idea what that trade would look like but he is what they need on the Island
I think the Bruins patience with Fabian Lysell is starting to run thin. he has been in North America for two years, and not even close to a call up. he could be a piece for the Bruins to put as a caveat in a multi player trade.
Would this work under the cap rules ? I still don’t know everything about the Cap rules. Just the basics.

Necas seems like a cocky spoiled brat, cant see him being a fit in the locker room
Some will argue that Domi played on the top line… ok, but so did Jonas Hoglund… for more than 1 season – I wouldn't pay him more that $3.5 Million either.
I don't think the Leafs should use Marner to get a goalie – Trade him yes, but not for a goalie. Trading an asset that big for a goalie is just too risky. Goalies can get there and sh!t the bed… then try moving that player. Yes, get a goalie, but use the Marner chip for a d-man and/or a forward.

Come be real. You bring up daily face offs comps. The difference for bertuzzi and domi is ridiculous. Domi is just as good as bertuzzi. Domi does command 4.5 mil for 3-5 years. Consistent 45-60 point player. I’d take Domi over bertuzzi all day
Domi took a show me contract. He didn't have a career year but he fit. And he was probably the best forward they iced in the playoffs this season. He was as productive as anyone else and was very good. 5 for 5 I don't think is out of the question. He took a low ball offer to play in Toronto specifically. Similar to Bert. Bert's problem is after being super productive for the Bruins in the playoffs he didn't repeat that for Toronto and he didn't have a very good year. His value is lower now than it was. I think Bert could have gotten 5 for 5 last year from a bunch of teams. I think he thought he'd go to Toronto light the world on fire and maybe get to ask for 7m a season instead. That didn't work out at all. Frankly if anyone gives him 5 now I think he'd be fortunate to get it.
Boston taking a goalie back from Carolina makes no sense. As it stands Boston has a log jam at goal in the minors. They signed Dipietro. They signed Reid Dyck. They haven't signed Bussi yet but clearly they don't intend to not qualify him. If Boston makes a move with Ullmark it's be either towards a center upgrade, or it'd be to free up cap likely to sign Lindholm as the center upgrade. I don't think Necas is an upgrade at center frankly. To me that doesn't make a lot of sense at all. Similar with Chandler Stephenson. I'm not sure he's an upgrade. You have Poitras already in the system. You still have another year of Geekie. You are likely going to resign Boqvist. Beecher is still under contract. You have Merk, and Farinachi in Providence. You don't need random 2,3,4 c guys. You need a legit possession driving faceoff winning 1c. It's pretty much Lindholm or bust. Unless Vega's goes ape shit to get Marner and decides to dump Eichel or Hertl to make it happen. It's pretty much Lindholm or ride out another year with what you got. Ullmark's contract expires at that point anyway.
It's adorable how everyone is an expert on where Mitch wants to play hockey when he and his agent haven't said a word on the matter.

You know the leafs want to lose and makes it clear why we have been losing for decade after decade is if they trade marner. Lets say mathews and marner over a career and mathews has a better production etc. ( I don't think he will but here nor there) You can bet your bottom dollar Mathews will be doing that on more than one team and Marners dedication, Love and passion will only keeping his performance in Toronto where it belongs. Mathews will bail if this ship doesn't go right under tre. Marner is like a fan and will stay and keep working to help this team win.
