Looks like it’s time for the Canucks to drop TD as a sponsor

Not canucks related, but TD bank has been cleaning up Fentanyl drug money for years, while knowing it was possibly happening, but not caring enough to do anything about it.

This should come as a surprise to nobody.
This is just the system working as intended.

What’s more Vancouver than Fentalnyl and laundered money?

B.C. and money laundering and drug money. Name a better combination.

Speaking of cancellations, shouldn’t Mark Donnelly be re-instuted with some kind of an apology for the way he was kicked to the curb during the pandemic?

Most of the official narrative around the pandemic has been obliterated in the last two years.

He was essentially cancelled for not wearing a mask.

For Vancouver, that would be like if the Rangers had an al-Qaeda patch.

  6. TD is under investigation in the US for alleged ties to money laundering in the USA.

The short version is that Chinese fentanyl trackers allegedly laundered 600 million dollars of drug money through TD’s banking system, and that some employees may have been bribed to assist with the process. Criminals would visit TD branches in New York and New Jersey and purchase cashiers cheques with illicit drug money and then wire the funds back to China. Branch employees were allegedly paid off with tens of thousands of dollars worth of gift cards and other bribes.

TD is facing significant regulatory fines (up to $2B) and other penalties for failing to take sufficient precautions to prevent money laundering.

Lafarge was caught and fined for financing international terrorism, RBC is the #1 investor in the tar sands… the list goes on. Businesses don’t care as long as the money keeps flowing.
