So happy NYR finally took time to let a young talent like AL develop in our system. Anybody with a close affinity or deeply analyzing this team felt he was poised for a ‘breakout’ year. I think he STILL surpassed even those expectations. Shake that Laffy Taffy.

So happy for him, dude got slandered so much. First picks always get that treatment, but he got it even more for playing in NYC. Hockey is definitely one of those sports where you cant just expect talented players to instantly become game changers. It still happens, but its way more rare than people want to admit.

I didn’t have a lot of hope for him, but he has sure shut me up. Now if we could only get half of that from Kakko, we’d really be cooking.

Definitely better than Nail Yakupov ever was. Is he an above average 2nd liner?

I think it makes sense why his development was slower than many 1ovr picks.

We weren’t a bottom of the barrel team when we drafted him. We already had Mika, Panarin, Kreider, Buch, and Strome as our core forwards and Kakko, Chytil, and (sorta, when he wasn’t in Hartford) Kravtsov all there for development.

Laf was never gonna get top 6 minutes right off the bat, which a lot of those super talented high draft picks need to acclimate to the NHL. It’s really great that he’s got that level of trust now. He’s been popping off and showing everyone how talented he really is.

Man that wrister, the backhand, the hands, the skating. He’s improved in every aspect of his game since coming into the league and I’m very happy to have him on our team.

My brother went with some boys to one of his if not his last game in his hometown during his last qmjhl year.. place was nuts, the guy played on another level

I’ve always loved that he’s a small town French-Canadian kid ripping it up in the Big Apple

  7. Not gonna lie, I just ordered a laffy alternate from msg shop this morning after really taking in those legendary goals.

Yeah, a lot of “fans” were down on him, and Miller. No way, they are fantastic players and have shown through.
