    Deslauriers was such a ridiculous overpay. Basically fletch’s version of Hextall signing Dale Weise for double what anyone would pay.

    Ehh honestly probably the roster but don’t agree with the lineup. Drysdale likely lower, can’t imagine poehling not being on the 3rd line. Bet we’ll see the full carousel of goalies next season as well. Then I think we probably buy out cam atkinson and bring in another defender, but I think the theme of next year is to further see what the guys we have have

    This is the most realistic armchair GM I’ve seen

    This just reminded me how far we gotta go in this rebuild haha

    5.1 for a defenseman that is out for an entire season yet somehow got 4 points in one game

    Cates should be permanently banished to the 4th line. They also seem to prefer Sanheim playing the right side, and he should definitely be playing ahead of York & Drysdale. Zamula is also not sniffing $2 million AAV, he might sniff $1 million.

  7. Whats the point of an armchair GM if you just move a couple depth players and add nobody lol

    Its the most realistic one tho …

    Would love to see Briere be active on the trade block. I’d be ok with Danny trading ANY of these players frankly.

  9. Please no Cates at center, please no Deslauriers nor Atkinson at all. Please move at least Konecny now as well.

    Forwards who might be (relatively) cheaply and in some cases freely available (if no RFA contract tendered, or in the case of Kotkaniemi, bought out) to fit the current process years/temporal core once you trade Laughton, Konency, and potentially others like Frost and/or Farabee away. None of them are full replacements of course, but the Flyers have to either optimize for the now or the future, and I’m 100% convinced that a rebuilding team that has so many future talent gaps has to be optimizing for the future:

    Carolina

    * Kotkaniemi
    * Comtois

    Utah

    * Hayton (wouldn’t be free surely, but real “change of scenery” candidate)

    Rangers

    * Kakko (would require a significant trade, but he’d surely come at a discount)

    Seattle

    * Lind

    Nashville

    * Parssinen

    * Afanasyev

    Islanders

    * Wahlstrom

    Ducks

    * Jones

    Jets

    * Gustafsson

    Calgary

    * Pelletier

    The team is committed to not bottoming out and sure, Tortorella + Shaw can get an extra 10 or so points out of a given and admittedly poor lineup. Put another way, the Flyers are not going to draft in the top 5, but they need to keep trading away top of the lineup players for more and better prospects/draft picks. When you do that, then you’re going to be scrounging around for “talent” like above to ice until your prospects/picks start joining the lineup.

    It is the same approach (finding castoff “talent” from other teams) they took with Poehling, I think they’ll continue to go this route over the next couple of seasons.
