I’ll laugh if Canes buyout Kk
Buy him out you can then almost afford to resign Lindholm
Ilya is not that bad
Mikheyev has to go!
KK is skating his way out of the NHL. I have as much confidence in him as in PLD being a locker room leader 😂
sad for KK a little but very happy about the canes
Definitely need to re-sign Big Z! Would like Joshua back as well but if he asks too much then let him walk. I have a feeling Lindholm's going to test the free agent market.
Great. The Canucks will soon be spending more on buyouts than on active players. Especially if Pettersson continues to decline and they have to buy him out with 6 or 7 years remaining on his contract.
Rick Tocchet had the midas touch this year with our lineup. However, his biggest mistake may have been putting Mikheyev on the top line for that Game 7. The dude was a black hole of offense. Not sure why his game regressed so badly, but he made a struggling Elias Pettersson look like prime Connor McDavid. 😂
I know that the Habs squandered their 3rd overall pick with KK, but I love the fact that Carolina offer sheeted him and chirped the Habs on Twitter just to have this blow up for them.
Doesn't surprise me much about either player, KK was a bad draft pick by Marc Bergevin I didn't think it was a good pick at the time either. That draft year was a steal for Vancouver and a few other teams.
Kotkaniemi can bounce back; the intangibles are still there, things like passing accuracy (88% success on high danger passes) and faceoffs (55% won in 11 playoff games) zone stats and forechecking. He's just had some hard luck getting the puck in the net; which is all some folks seem to be able to see. He did have a couple of decent shots in the Rangers series, but he got Shesterkined. The advanced stats say there's still hope for him and would like to see him stay another year to try for a rebound.
Mikheyev seems like a nice guy but I get legit furious when he touches the puck in the offensive zone.
The Canucks were really good this year but there are huge gaps. There are enough expiring contracts Jul 1 that these can be addressed.
Trade um, 1 for 1 lol
utica pink unicorns ? wtf
Mikheyev couldn't score on an empty soccer net
Mikheyev hasn't scored since the invention of the shin pads
Wait for year 3,4 of the OEL buyout..
trade Mikheyev for draft picks?
Don't buy out Mikheyev, try your damnedest to trade him.
Mikheyev has a 12 team no-trade list. This leaves twenty different options for the Canucks to move Mikheyev rather than buying out his contract. Lego, I think what you're hinting at is a trade between the Hurricanes and the Canucks considering their respective contracts are very similar in price. Kotkaniemi doesn't have a no-trade clause until the '26-'27 season when he submits a ten team no-trade list. I'd say make a move for a quick reclamation project and if he doesn't pan out, dump him at the deadline.
No chance Mikhey gets bought out. He will be fine next year once he has recovered from his surgery. Not having certainty on Boeser is going to a much bigger deal than any other thing the Canucks will have to deal with.
That would be $7m of dead cap season after next when combined with the OEL buyout. Might as well write off the season
Bad contracts sighed worsed then Beartchi
my buyouts would be for canucks pety boeser demko
Need a better wingers for Petterson. Really frustrated to see Mikheyev missed the net in 1st period in Game 7. Otherwise, the entire game dynamic will completely change. This guy just don't know how to put puck into the net. He has the speed but if he doesn't know how know how to score, he is nothing. Drags down the Petterson line. Also, Tocchet is stubborn enough to put him with Petterson for so many games back date to the regular season
Anyone knows if Carolina in his no-trade clause?
Yeah they both stink !
The Canucks can't afford to be buying out anyone well ekmond Larson is still on the books
See ya KK
Get rid of that bum anyway you can
My patience is done with Mik. All the chances in the world to prove himself. That line needs more size and aggression.
Better to see if a team that needs his speed, defensive game n Can-nots retain 1.5 – 2 mil salary 1st for only 2 years then cap hit for 4. If not buy him out.
Maybe Dubas would consider trading him for Reilly Smith?
Ilya will turn around Melcholy boi give him half a year no guud then kick out
Of course, Freidman "went out there"!
Gotta love it when vindictive GMs have to by out their ridiculous offer sheets!
I could see Dubas or Lamoriello trading for him, simply to bring at least SOME speed to their aging rosters.
Canucks already have OEL on their dead cap space …which they should have kept him. Look at how well he is doing on the Panthers.
Trade for picks he was grossly overrated only in Vancouver this judgement lapses happen regularly
Player swap as part of the Necas-Hronek deal, change of scenery could do both players well… Kotkaneimi could really do well with some RT structure. Buy out the following season if either player fails.
