Trade for Carter Hart. With acquittal should be ready by December of 24 or January of 25. For a Second round draft choice and a prospect. It truly is the best option for the 🍃 🍃
Binnington would be a good option for Leafs. Lot depends what happens with Marner.
He would be a great asset for Predators to sign as part of trade of Jussi Saros 🇫🇮 and good defender. Predators need desperately a goal scorer. Marner can score goals.
Name a "fair" system where one side gets to appoint the arbitrator (usually a political hack) of their choice. Pay that arbitrator and tell the arbitrator, "If you don't side with us we can't pay you."
Defense is in need of a major upgrade, I know getting Marner and Tavares to waive their no trade clauses would free the cap space to allow for them to get what this team really needs…a number 1 defenseman.
It’s tempting to say the Leafs should trade for a goalie. TBD Will be whether the leaves will have to give up a ridiculous amount to acquire that goalie given how few reasonably good ones appear to be available.
If trading Marner is in the plans, Utah could give them a lot of what they need. Vermelka, Crouse and Maccelli for Marner and a couple prospects. Would give them size, skill and fill the goaltending hole for what Marner is getting paid.
You might be able to offer sheet Swayman? Dont trade for a goalie.
Try to get Bottom Six depth for Marner and parle the picks you get for Konecy or another Two-Way winger.
You can get Defence for Marner as well.
They better because Woll is made of glass and there’s really not much to choose from in free agency. Hopefully with Treliving the days of cheaping out on defense and goaltending are over

Soros, Markstrom, Thompson or sign Brossoit. Bring in 2 good RD Carrier, Roy, Chatfield. Re-up Lilly, Robertson, Dewar. Bring up Cowan, Mits on 4th line and 2nd PP/PK.

Remember folks: all this chirping about Defense…. DEFENSE wasn't our problem in the playoffs….look at all the series and note that we rarely allowed more than 2 goals in a game….its the OFFENSE THAT HASNT SHOWN UP. And most of that is on Mitch. trade him for a 1A goalie

More I think about Leafs restructuring, why not trade Marner for 2 first rounders and two second rounders. Use the extra cap space money and picks to offer sheet for Swayman and Harley form Dallas.
