Demidov is taken at #2 and Igor Chernyshov, LW, Dynamo Moscow at #18.
“Chicago lands another skilled Russian winger here after their late-May trade-up with the Islanders. In Chernyshov, they get a winger with skill, scoring ability and the size to play a power game that will complement some of their speedy two-way centers and now Demidov as well. “
Adam Jiricek, RHD, HC Plzen is still on the board and goes at #19. He would be a real tempting choice at #18 as he sounds to have a higher ceiling than some of the current D prospects.

If you go Demidov at 2, and Jiricek is available at 18, I think we’d be crazy to pass on him as our RHD has awful depth right now.
I’d probably take Juricek in that situation, but I also don’t see how STL passes on him at 16 with their need at D
I wouldn’t put it past Davidson to double down on the offense. As tempting as adding to the RHD depth is, I thought there was a Scott Powers article saying the hawks didn’t really place emphasis on RHD vs. LHD.
I’m also still in the camp that Davidson makes a big splash at the draft and trades up further than 18 and possibly trades back into the first round by taking on a bad contract.
Me see Demidov at 2, me like.
