No bueno. This injury looks like a high ankle sprain or pulled ligaments. Hes probably out 4-6 weeks. While Rants is near irreplaceable, the Avs are deep enough this year to get by. Couldn't definitely see Compher hop on that line or give Nichuskin a shot. The Avs will be fine. This is a big early test for them.

Early in the season, hopefully it isn't bad. I'm praying to the AVS Hockey God. The good thing about the AVS is they now have depth, also they have Cap space.

As a prior hockey player I’ll share that this is common when dragging one skate at a certain angle. Until you hit a divot in the ice, then it can snap the ankle forward and break it instantly. Probably a rolled or broken ankle. 🙁

I did this once, turn the meniscus tendon in my knee… It sucks and 9 out of 10 times require surgery to fix it properly. Out 6-8 weeks with NHL advanced medical staff

it's crazy. Those guys are top athletes, supremely strong. It's scary to think that such an innocent-looking thing could be so bad. Scared of going on the ice tonight with my beer league team…
