  1. Poor kid is really disappointed. He will turn it into a positive and use the sting as motivation to get back here. For good.

  2. Great now our top prospect we’ve have in years and his brainwashing agent are pissed at the team…..just our luck

  3. This is a business move if I've ever seen one. This way his entry level contract doesn't start until next season and they'll have an extra year to move pieces around to prepare the team budget for a long term contract a few years from now. This move has nothing to do with Eklund's performance and honestly I doubt DW and the sharks ever intended him to stay for the season. I wish the team would've been more direct with their intentions to him to avoid this sour situation. He seems upset about being sent back to the SHL and I don't blame him. He played great and earned his spot in this forward group.

  4. This is long term solution. We get Eklund playing his ELC with probably Bordeleau, Robins, Wiesblatt and imo that is a good move by management.
He will be even more ready and hungry next year, when we have to face the juggernauts of Vegas w/ Eichel and Stone, Edmonton w/ McDavid and Draitsaitl in Pacific.
PS. Great to have Remenda back!!!

  5. This reallllly sucks, I was so excited to see him in person and he’s been by FAR the most exciting recent story in Shark-land

That said, the more I think about it, the more I come to terms with this truly being the best move for the kid for his (and the team’s) future . I am glad the organization prioritized this.

Let’s be real – this WAS a very difficult decision, him staying would have helped the team this season, he already makes Sharks better… BUT giving him an opportunity to dominate a league (and don’t forget – SHL is just under KHL in terms of quality of league) is something he hasn’t done to this point yet, and in the long run I think it’s probably the best move

  6. Good news. He will develop nicely for a year in the SHL. Also, i just got Swedish Cmore channal package showing SHL games, and i like Djurgården 🙂 going to be fun to watch him.

  7. Honestly I feel like him going back to Sweden would be the best I feel like ohl whl qmjhl players should have the opportunity to go to the ahl or their previous league
