The only way I see this happening is in my dreams!!!
If the Oilers get to the cup final and come close to winning it. He isn't leaving. They blow the next two games. I can see him needing a change.
The thing that bugs me about the idea of Sharks going out to get someone like Draisaitl or Marner because "cap space!" is odd because:
Sharks fans whined for years about Karlsson's contract, yet they are suggesting that Grier go out and get a Marner or Draisaitl contract not even a full calender year after freeing us from EK65's contract?
I don't see either of them producing at the level that warrants that kind of money with this current Sharks roster, sure it'd be phenomenal for the prospects to play with such a superstar veteran like that… but that's the equivalent of Toronto spending 6 million a year on Marleau purely for because they wanted his veteran leadership.
It's a fun fantasy, I just hope it stays that way.
I really want him to leave, just for pure entertainment. He’s lived most of his NA hockey life in Prince Albert, Sk (trash) and Edmonton (Also trash). I hope he doesn’t live in Edmonton in the offseason 💀
