  1. Ranger's management has a lot to think about. The right wing on the top line was a black hole all season long (Wheeler, really?), and management did a poor job addressing this at the trade deadline (Roslovic, again really?). This line needs a "Tkachuk-like" player. They also have to address the Fox-Panarin Paradox, which is the Rangers cannot get to the playoffs without their skill but cannot win in the playoffs because their diminutive size and lack of physical play. They need to build a bigger, stronger, and more aggressive team. Rempe was a recognition of this, but he alone is not the answer.

And let's give credit to where credit is due. Over the last three years in aggregate the Panthers are arguably the best team in the NHL. Three years ago they won the President's Trophy. Last year they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals and along the way beat the Boston Bruins who had just had the greatest regular season ever. This year they beat a hot and streaking Lightening team (4 to 1), a solid Bruins team (4 to 2), and the Rangers (4 to 2) who had a great regular season winning the President's cup. They will likely win the Stanley Cup in no more than six games, no matter their opponent. As a Rangers' fan I see no shame in losing to the Panthers. They are just that damn good.

  2. Did you catch Panarin behind the net throwing the puck away to the Panthers like a live grenade before someone came near him.

  3. I can totally agree with you. The last 2 years when the Rangers were eliminated, I was pissed. 2022, we had a 2-0 series lead against the Lightning, and not did we choke, but we died. 2023, much better team, lost to a minor league goalie where, once again, we died (especially Games 5 and 7). But this year, I can't even be mad. We didn't choke nor died this time. We just lost, and we lost to a team that is just better (I nearly cried after we lost Game 6). We have everything, Igor playing out of his mind, the strategies to stop Florida, Matt Rempe, we pretty much solved everything against the Panthers, but it just wasn't enough. Florida was just better. If the big starts showed up for most of this series, if we had Matt Rempe in Games 1 and 6, and if Vesey didn't get injured, we either could have won the series, or at least push it to Game 7. It was so close. The only bad game was Game 1, and the Rangers weren't even bad (Game 5 against the Hurricanes was the worst game of the playoffs for the Rangers). They just got dominated by the Panthers, they shut us down, they made it impossible for us to do anything, and Sergei Bobrovsky. If it wasn't for Igor, this series would have ended sooner. I already knew after Game 1 that the Panthers would be our biggest challenge, and this is not the same Panthers team last year. This time, they are MUCH better, and they have shown that they are ready. The time is now for the Panthers to win the cup.

As for the Rangers, it was hard fought, but it wasn't enough to beat the Panthers. You can't win them all,……………………..or ever………..but with the players and coaches we have, and where we finished in the regular season, we are at a great place. I am proud of this team. The Rangers did well. They should be proud. They showed greatness, and that they are a Stanley Cup Contender. Hopefully next year will be the year.

  4. Felt like a similar story to previous years. Seeing the top guys disappear for long stretches makes me worried. Doesn't bring me confidence that we can add a single piece and go all the way. My bright side is that Trocheck and Laf have arrived.

  5. Fun fact, in a full 82 game season the Rangers had the worst record of a President's Trophy Winner since the Rangers back in 2014-15

  6. Rangers have no one to blame but themselves, they couldn't match Panther in any part of the game, feel sorry for Igor.

  7. How can you leave out how bad Artemi Panarin was this series?! The only time I noticed him was when he was giving the puck away to Florida, otherwise he had completely disappeared.

  8. Trouba and Miller got to go man. I know they're well liked but they are both a liability on the blue line. Miller coughed up the puck a ton in the playoffs and Trouba was a penalty machine costing us a bunch. I doubt many will take trouba but we at least get the C off his chest.

  9. Panthers look like the best all-around team in the playoffs this year, but Rangers have looked like trash since the 2nd round. Without Igor they wouldn't have made it this far.

  10. Trouba has turned into Marchand in my mind absolutely hate him otherwise as a penguins fan I just like seeing Carolina and Washington loosing even if we can’t make the playoffs but I hate trouba

  11. Rangers fans can 0 complaints, outplayed in this series and honestly they were outplayed by Carolina in 5/6 games, Igor is the only reason they got this far.
