I think the difference in Winnipeg this time is that they are replacing someone who retired, and wasnt fired. I hate hiring from within after a firing when lots of times that doesn't change the culture

Hasek was always covering the bottom 20% of the net and along the ice when diving. In those days in the NHL something like 80% of the goals went in along the ice and in the bottom fifth of the net so when making a desperation save, when all else fails and you are diving to make a save cover where the player is most likely to shoot. This info was inspired by M Korn, Haseks goaltending coach in Buffalo.
