Connor McDavid alone had 10 points against Dallas and took control of the lost two games which finished off the Stars. In the final segment, Joey gives a nod to Joe Pavelski who plays on hanging up the skates after this season. 1. What a wonderful career, Pavs. Thanks for all the memories. Your leadership is immeasurable… Hat tip, Joe Pavelsky. 🌟

  2. This team is close… They will be back!!! I think johnston is going to go off next season and its going to be really fun. The expectation is the cup now so im excited to see how they adjust the roster for next season to take it up another level. Lets go Stars !!

  3. As much as I liked Dutchy this season I think we should move on from him was almost a ghost in every series need to upgrade there. I know stamkos is available not sure if we could get him on a TEAM friendly deal.

  4. We going to say the Stars lost because of injuries and tiredness. Just admit you got beat by a better team. Edmonton also had injuries and illness during the Vancouver series and they still found a way to win.

  5. Also, why are they such a bad home playoff team? 4-6 at home in the playoffs and 0-3 in Game 1s. That's not acceptable. You work hard all regular season to get home-ice advantage only to throw it away? Pathetic.

  6. Thanks Joey, great analysis as always. Agree with all you said here, was weird that Pete, didn't change things up with Oilers, as he did in first two series. Curious, why? Just didn't make sense at the time, and of course now. Was interesting to hear Pete's history, thanks for diving deep and sharing. No way Pav's should have had more ice time than Benn, Sequin, Stankoven, Hintz etc. Placing the bigger slice of the blame pie on Pete makes sense.

  7. Imo, nothing went wrong, the Oilers had already won the series before it even started, the Stars just didn’t know it. Like I said from the beginning Oilers in 6.

  8. This stuff is so much more complex than any stat or trend can bear. There were chances to score, but they didn’t because sometimes there was a goalie in the way, named Stuart Skinner, who everybody dismissed as a chump. Or maybe Robertson’s stick didn’t have the right flex or curve, or Hintz’ skates were tied too tightly. It’s probably not DeBoer, though. These days we always look for some trend or stat that maybe explains why our hearts are aching. But I’ll bet you could dig up some disturbing trend for any team that ever hoisted the cup, and yet they found a way to win.
But my Oilers are going to the final now and maybe it’s my heart aching in three weeks’ time. And I’ll be the one looking for answers. So it goes.
I really enjoyed you guys this series. Keep loving your team. We’re all going to miss Joe.

  9. Joe busted his ass the entire time he was here. Our leaders Benn who has to go Sequin who has to go Hinz Roberston 95 Dadonov all dissappear when all they had to do is attack down the middle of the ice clock up the middle and attack the net for FUCK SAKES!!!!!!! This team needs a sports psychologist on staff!!

  10. Kris Knoblach deserves most of the credit, his adjustments after game 3 made all the difference. Inserting Broberg for Desharnais really upgraded the Oilers speed on D. Dallas isn’t a very physical team so Desharmais size wasn’t needed. The Oilers also figured out the Stars long pass breakout that burned them repeatedly in game 3.

  11. Two Western Conference finals in a row is a great accomplishment. Not what we wanted, this year for sure, but still great. Agree with both Special Team failures and "running out of gas!". Please no Suter or Hakenpaa next year. Build up a solid six on defense please.

  12. Keep Duchene. Give him a chance to have a year without the struggles he went through. Agree on Suter!

  13. Let's not forget Joe scored 4 goals last year in the playoffs and we still lost! We love you Captain America!! God bless you and your family!

  14. I have been talking about this all year we do not have any player that wants to go hang out in front of the net. All year long we've been looking for the perfect pass instead of just shooting the puck to the net and go and get the rebound. We also have to play more physical and have a stronger FORECHECK!! Robertson is soft!

  15. I don't agree that Dallas is the better team on paper.

Edmonton was the best team in the entire league from the day Knoblauch took over. I don't believe there is a better team in the NHL right now and that is why the Oilers are about to win the Stanley Cup.

  16. Yep, some coaching mistakes as well as a defense that needs a piece or two to be a cup winner. That special teams collapse was insane to watch.

  17. Pavelski helped to jettison Wyatt Johnsons career forward in such a way that his development as a player has increased a lot more than most players at his age. My hats off, to the Pavs.
