Ottawa Senators captain Erik Karlsson talks about a part of his game that he does not excel at, and what an honour it is to be at his fourth All-Star Game.

Lol. Him and Burns are both in terms of defense not the best. Doughty is better than both of them in terms of defense. Karlsson without a doubt is still really good though. Burns has a wicked shot but slightly above average defensive skills. Vlasic and Martin both put Burns to shame in terms of defense.
I think he's a fantastic defenseman, but the problem comes when people try and say he is the best defenseman, or Doughty is the best, Weber, Keith, Vlasic, Burns, Hedman, etc. Almost all of those names have their own unique style of defense that works for them. They all play on different teams, which can hide or exaggerate weaknesses; different pairings, etc. There isn't one defenseman in the league right now who is so utterly dominant that they are CLEARLY the best defenseman, like Orr was, Lidstrom, Doug Harvey.
As a Swede i feel all patriotic and nice watching this. Fun facts about Swedes in the NHL. About 10 percent out of all NHL players is Swedes, thats 3rd after USA born and Canadian born. And this is from a country with only 9 million people.
Sens fans are gonna really miss Erik Karlsson. Kinda gives me a lump throat just thinking that he was Ottawa's last hope and now he's gone. I'm rooting for which ever team he ends up on. Go Karlsson Go!!
