Interesting. Lebrun does mention that there’s still a “difference of opinion” on what the cost for Markstrom should be and that Conroy is willing to be patient.

If Ottawa is one of the other teams interested, this is best case scenario for Conroy. Could use the 10th and 7th overall picks in a bit of a bid war.
I think that 28th overall gives some real opportunity for Conroy to make a splash to move up. I think Buffalo is another intriguing trade partner. There has to be some pressure to make a move in Buffalo. I can’t help but think Flames could build a package with the 28th pick to get Buffalo’s 11th. So one way or another, I don’t think Flames are selecting 28th, and maybe instead they have another pick 7th, 10th, or 11th on draft day.
