here’s a uh you look at a game like this I mean you’re 20 minutes away from your season ending and then all of a sudden here we are game five’s coming up yeah uh you work all year for moments like that and you know we’re not out of it until till Zero’s hit the clock and it’s kind of nice to maybe change the roles a little bit they’ve come back on us a couple times this year when we’re up a few goals so uh it definitely feels nice to be on the other end of that getting that one so early immediately kind of kicked right if you don’t get that till 10 minutes are left you’re in a much different situation right we talked after the second just you know get pucks to the net um playoffs like this all you want to do is put there and you never know what can happen you’re not going to score fancy goals at this time of the season and uh we just got the puck to the net a couple times and and all the goals were right in the crease where they need to be this time of the year so um it’s a great play by uh by cheeks there to get get to me on the back died and um obviously I was fortunate got all the way through to me and went in did you start to feel them maybe start to think this game isn’t over was there was there a shift was it the first one of the third period or I would ass probably at the intermission anytime you know you’re looking to end someone’s season you know you grip the stick a little bit too tight and you know it could have gone either way I mean we you know at that point didn’t have anything to lose so there wasn’t really a lot of pressure on us we’re down three nothing all we could do was just go out and and keep it simple and play and felt like all the pressure was on them I’m trying to protect a lead and like I said earlier that’s kind of something that we’ve had to deal with a couple times earlier in the year where you know we kind of sit back and they they kind of start to walk all over us and and you know the roles reversed uh uh tonight and um whenever you’re trying to end someone’s season you know they they tend not to go away so uh it was a lot of fun tonight making passes he’s pretty good yeah you could say that Russy was was awesome tonight and and so was wise back wise back I think by far his best game of the playoffs wasn’t even close he was he was unbelievable tonight when when he uses his speed like he did tonight it opens up passing lanes for for Russy and myself and um it just opened up room for Russy to make plays tonight and I know he’s going to do that he’s a fantastic player but you know wiy was I think he was a difference tonight we needed him to have a great game tonight and he was he was fantastic heav Murray back and it just right before the puck even dropped yeah yeah it’s uh nice he brings a different element to to the game you know he gets right into it right away didn’t waste any time and um wouldn’t have expected a goal from him to to go in any other way so that was awesome and we’re all happy for him it was it was a huge boost for us to have him back in the lineup tonight pretty good me this building already yeah yeah tonight was was a lot of fun it was probably the most typical game in Syracuse you could get it’s always you know it’s always tight here boards were broken before the game puck didn’t start game didn’t start on time so good ice yeah ice was uh yeah a little bit little bit soft you could say that so this was basically the most typical game in Syracuse so uh not much else to say set at so’s not usually jumping up in the play it’s usually so what did you see on that play uh you know we needed a big goal so everyone’s looking to cheeks to to get it he’s saving him for this time of the year so uh no it was a great read by him to jump backside and you know rusek made a fantastic play to to find him on the back hand and really good touch from cheeks to to get it up top and you know cheeks was feeling himself in the thir he you know had that great pass to me back door and um had a nice goal so he was you know he’s always good for us defensively so for him to get rewarded offensively it was it was nice to see for Deon to to stop the bleeding at three and defensively but just to have that the maturity of a young player to bounce back from a tough start yeah obviously don’t want to give up a lot of chances but when we do we’re confident that he’s going to make the save when he needs to make it and he definitely kept us into the game made a couple huge saves after it was three nothing or you know even when it got to 33 they had a couple good looks and even overtime too so um it’s just nice you don’t have to worry about it cuz he’s he’s back there he’s going to do his thing and you know we let him be and and you know he’s going to be fantastic for us so he was he was great again tonight perfect thanks
