GET PATRIK LAINE ON THE FIRST LINE WITH SUKES AND SLAF

  2. Just FYI: cap rising also comes with salary inflation.

Say Slafkovsky signs for the same 9.66% of the cap that Suzuki did in 2021. That 9.66% is now 8.5M instead of 7.875. If it’s the 9.52% that Caufield got in 2023, it’s now 8.377M

During the season I was expecting 64M over 8 years for Slaf (8M AAV), which is in line with what Jack Hughes got in NJ. That’d be around 9.09% of the cap now.

So now I’m expecting 66M over 8 years for Slaf. 8.25M AAV, 9.37% of the cap, so still lower % of the cap than Suzuki & Caufield got, but higher AAV by about 400K, which is like a 1st overall pick tax.

So in other words, The Salary Cap is increasing by 1 Christian Dvorak. Huge Jump

I mean that’s one perspective, the other is that both Suzuki and Caulfield are producing more than him, so 7.5 is the right number.
