  1. Leafs always get players at the end of there careers 34 years old , there’s better goalies out there much younger 🎉

  2. You keep saying it's understandable why they wouldn't want to retain salary. How? You are clearly in a rebuilding situation. You need assets. You don't need 3m in cap space. If that rumor (it is just a rumor. Cause the other rumor was that it was New Jersey that caused the deal to fall through by refusing to include Mercer instead of Holtz which makes more sense to be what blocked the deal) is true it's dumb. Spend 6m on him. Or spend 3m on the player you get for him and 3m for him. What does it matter? It's the same cap hit either way. They clearly don't need or want him they asked him to waive. The whole situation was just exceedingly dumb and poorly handled.

  3. Devils really should be out on Markstrom, especially if the asking price is the 10th pick. Giving up a promising prospect for a goalie that might give 1-2 good years? That’s just not good asset management. There’s other options for the Devils that they should be focusing on.

  4. The #10 pick is too much for Markstrom now. I’d be fine with picks plus for him but that #10 would be better used in a package for a top tier defenseman that the Devils are lacking

  5. Toronto doesnt have the young assets to make this trade and no sober player would be willing to have a ntc to go to ottawa 😄

  6. Markstrom has a full no trade and Ottawa isn’t a playoff team and Toronto has no cap space and aren’t willing to trade actual pieces they control to even get Calgary to the table. It’s pretty obvious he’s going to a playoff contender in the United States this summer. New Jersey, Detroit, Colorado, LA, Buffalo make more sense than any team in Canada.
