He’s going to NJ and he will provide above average goaltending
NJ will be healthy finally and be top 3 in the conference and Sheldon Keefe is going to win the Jack Adams without doing anything lol

Let it be a lesson for everyone UFA – it’s not always greener –

Why swear in the subject line? Also, he is not our boy and hasn’t been for a while.
I am guessing he’s annoyed with the Flamers because they asked him to move twice this season and both times the deals fell through. Oh well.

Eh he went when they were doing ok and then they fell apart after that big trade didnt work out. He is trying to win a Cup I think.

Flames have two excellent young goalies behind Marky. Wolff is overdue and maybe Marky is seeing the writing on the wall?

Sens want to desperately acquire him and re-unite him with Green – I think that would cheer up our boy!

He had 1 Vezina calibre season in Calgary and then 2 mediocre ones. This year he has actually been really good up until the TDL, his name leaked on trade rumours and the team gutted their roster. So he would definitely be an upgrade for a lot of teams out there.

Ideal playing situation for NHL goalies is to be in a Ullmark / Swayman tandem where you don’t get overworked. Ideal paying situation is to be a true #1 but then you play way too much.
Sutter road Markstrom into the ground.
Hope he lands somewhere and gets a chance to play meaningful games.

From what I remember and I could be wrong- they lined up a deal with New Jersey at the deadline. Asked him to waive, I think. So he was mentally prepared to go and then they didn’t pull the trigger. A shitty situation.
Markstrom has been hot and cold for us but when he’s hot he’s one of the best there is. Definitely be sad to see him go.

If he goes to Montreal, they’d actually have a team

Look what they did to my boy. Honestly he’s still a good goalie hated the media always slamming him here when the team didn’t back him up on D. Would have been happy if he stayed in Van longer

Flames fan here. Marky had a solid season last year, so it would be great to keep him as the starter, but he’s 34 and deserves a shot at a deep playoff run, and (like Lindholm and Zadorov) I’d like to see him get that chance.
