  1. His record with Columbus doesn’t inspire much confidence… other than the confidence that we’ll succeed in getting into a top 10 draft position next season so we don’t lose our pick.

Kent Johnson welcome to Calgary 🔥🔥

Our powerplay success will be dependent on Kuzmenko’s play and not our coaching 😉

Seems to me cgy penny pinching again rather than bringing in someone with an actual good track record.

Hmmm while I’m not exactly brimming with excitement over that, I would like to point out that while his tenure as head coach of the jackets was extremely underwhelming to say the least, he was an assistant coach for the much more exciting jackets team that swept the lightning…

Now of course that’s not necessarily saying that he was definitely a big part of that, but it’s worth pointing out some coaches just aren’t quite cut out to be head coaches but are perfectly good with smaller roles. Gulutzan is a good example, we all know he was an atrocious head coach here but he’s done solid PP work up north. Give him a chance, plus if he is working the PP for us he really can’t do much worse than Savard did 😅

Oh for fuck sakes, can’t we get anything good for once?

Given the circumstances, I don’t think this is a bad choice.

The Flames today are in a very different situation than they were a couple years ago. They don’t need a coach that can push them across the line, they need to be focusing on developing young players, building culture, and creating an enjoyable work environment.

Larsson is not someone I would want as a head coach but he was successful at the AHL level, and has been an assistant coach for years, so I think he could contribute a lot to the organization.

Honestly i don’t mind it. He’s got experience in the NHL and I think that’s one of the things our coaching staff doesn’t have enough of. Hopefully he helps develop huska, who I don’t mind.

Looking at the track record, he seems to be an x’s and o’s guy that probably struggled to manage personalities as a head coach. Assistant is the right position for him..idk what people expected in an assistant coach hiring. Huge upgrade over savard imo

Has alot of experience developing young players but not the best record in the big leagues. It’s perfect
