  1. This made me laugh the hardest:

    > At press time, trade Marner.

well Oilers should be grateful to playing the Kings every year lol

I’m a die hard Leafs who was born and raised in Edmonton before the Oilers existed

My Oiler buddies here at the start of this series were saying, “let us show you how to win against the big scary Eastern teams”

I have not said one word to them since, there’s no need, lol

  4. I was surprised to learn there are Leaf fans cheering for the Oilers. I like the idea of a Canadian team winning, and have no hate for the players, but their fan base is probably one of the worst. The amount of trash talking they did about Matthew’s over the years and the number Leaf threads in their subreddit is ridiculous.

  5. The humour with slivers of plausible truth seeded in, at the same time, taking pleasure in others misery, or shared misery. Just great. Like a sketch out of a naked gun movie.

Counterpoint. The oilers have lost to the cup champs three years in a row. Only one of those is from the atlantic

While all true. The Oilers also proved a cheaper and significantly more accomplished top 3 can’t get it done. Why do the Leafs think they can? (97, 29, 18 vs 34, 16, 88. Also ignoring the money wasted on 91).

It’s nice when the Beaverton article isn’t in jest of our team for once lol
